How to fix data export so that data from all fields are exported properly

    Hi,

I am having very serious issues with the exported data for one of the forms. It seems that the data is getting exported only partially, and the questions appear strange in the excel or .CVS export.

For example, the questions at the top of the table are incomplete. The text shows some formatting code but not the rest of the statement being evaluated.

I am including a link to the actual survey below. I am also uploading a screenshot of the exported data, although I am not sure this conveys the problem.

    Can you help?

I have checked your form and compared the date in your screenshot and it seems the data is showing correctly.

May we know how you would like the data to be shown?

Do note that you're using the input table for your fields and this is how it is shown when downloaded in excel.

Hi, Is there anyway I can send you the excel file of exported data to show you the issue?

The problem is as follows. Taking the table below as an example, the exported data shows responses only for the first question ("Understand viral targets..."). It does not show the answer for next questions ("Understand drug development...". In other words, we get only one of the several answers per main query.

I hope that helped clarify the question.

The following meeting objectives were met during HEP DART 2019:

Understand viral targets and novel mechanisms of action in drug development

Understand drug development advances for NASH, NAFLD, and HCC e

Describe the latest developments in HBV therapeutics and cure

Understand the barriers and future challenges for elimination/ cure of viral hepatitis and co-infections

    Hi,

    Thanks for the clarification.

I have tried filling all fields then sending a test submission to your form and extracted data in CSV format. There seems to be no problem with your form as the data extracted are just showing correctly. All fields are indicated with answers.

I think the reason why you're seeing incomplete answers in your extracted data is that your form fields are not set as required. This gives the option to your users to skip some questions and submit incomplete answers to your form.

As a solution, I suggest setting every row of your Input Table as required so your users are forced to fill every question in your form to be able to submit.

You can do set it required by navigating to your Input Table Properties (Gear Icon) > GENERAL Tab > Set Required to "Require an answer on every row."

As for your question if you can send as the excel file of exported data, unfortunately, you can only send screenshots to our support forum. But please don't worry as we can check your forms on our end as well as the reports being generated.

    Hope this helps.

Kindly let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your response. It seems that the export that you got is different from mine. Do you also see the difference? You are getting responses for everything. But in my export I only saw one response per main question.

In the future I will set fields as mandatory but it seems surprising that jotform cannot correctly export non-required data which have been properly entered.

For now, are you able to send me the .CVS of the file that you exported? (The one from which you got the screenshot). I am not sure why my export looks different but this would at least solve my problem in the immediate since I need this data urgently.

    Thank you.

We will be glad to further help you with your concern, but can you tell us exactly how the exported Excel file my colleague showed in his screenshot different from the exported Excel file you are getting on your end, please?

For the Input Table field, each row will be represented as 1 column in the Excel file of submission

For example, in this Input Table field on a cloned version of your form, when each row has an answer

    1582945462zt22 03 42 Screenshot 10

it will look like this on the Excel File.

    1582945854zt22 09 50 Screenshot 21

The column header in the Excel file of submission for the Input Table field is a combination of the field name of the Input Table field and the row header of the Input Table field in your form.

Now since the Input Table fields in your form is not set as required, respondents can skip a row in an Input Table field and still be able submit the form.
