    Dropbox integration: Uploads are transferred to wrong folder if unique id field is used

    Hi,

     

    first of all, kudos, I really like your product :)

    While I am trying to integrate the form submission with dropbox, I got an issue with uploaded files. I am using a unique id field to determine, in which folder the form data and the uploads should be transferred.

    With just the form data (pdf) everything runs smooth. The attachments (uploads) however, are transferred to a different folder. It looks like the unique id does not increment (or maybe just a few times) for them, so that the folder to which the pdf is transferred to is not the same as the folder to which the attachements (uploads) are transferred.

    E.g. I have something like this after successfully submitting three forms using a unique id field starting at 3001 and using this field to define the folder where the data should be uploaded to in dropbox:

     

    /JotForm/myForm/3001/

    -> 3001.pdf (formData)

    -> upload1.png (belongs to 3001.pd)

    -> upload2.png (belongs to 3002.pd)

     

    -> upload3.png (belongs to 3003.pd)

     

     

    /JotForm/myForm/3002/

    -> 3002.pdf (formData)

     

    /JotForm/myForm/3003/

    -> 3003.pdf (formData)

     

     

     

    I would expect the form data and the attachments (uploads) in the same folder.

    I have made some test

    You can manage the Dropbox integration , by setting up a Default folder and an extended folder

    To do that , go to My Forms, click on Submissions Tab , then

    1. click on the Gear icon

    2. Click on manage integration: From here you can choose a Default Folder and an extended one

    When you don't set an extended folder and leave , for example, Submissions ID as the default folder, then both the data and uploaded files will be inside the folder , but the Unique ID will not show on it

    Let me know if my workaround helped you to have a better idea how the integration works

    Hi Jeanette,

    thanks for getting back so quickly.

    OK, I already simplified this as much as possible but I need the Unique ID to relate things together (also to external data) so it would be good if everything that belongs together was in a folder named by that unique id. So I use the unique id to label the default folder, the extended folder is unused.

    With that setup, the problem is still that the uploaded file is transfered to the folder of the previous submission. So there is an offset (+1) of the unique id between the form submission (pdf) and its attachments (file uploads). I am pretty sure that this is a bug, not primarily a configuration issue.

    I hope it is more clear now.
