Can I change the date form field to display numbers for dates rather than text?

Asked by stonehillcollege on May 24, 2013 at 11:01 AM

We are trying to create a loader for one of our forms to be pulled into a school application. The month of the date field needs to be in a number format how can I make that happen? Currently it only allows for text format.

Yes you can make date field from text to number format by adding DateTime field under "Quick Tools". This field with Date picker also.

    1. Quick Tools ->  Select DateTime field
    2. Turn On Reduired
    3. Turn Off Allow Time
    4. Turn off default Time

This will help you to add Date field in number format.

I am afraid that there is no way to accomplish this task, at least from JotForm's side. Are you trying to automatically import the data from the email alerts? Are you manually importing them in Excel format?

If it's the latter, you may use built in Excel functions and custom formulas to change the months into the corresponding numerical value.

Hope this post helps. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Ah yes, @jalaludeen is correct. You can easily replace the birth date field with the dateTime one. However, I am not sure if it is the best solution if the already-saved data is of importance.
