The configurable list won't let me make certain fields in the list required

The configurable list won't let me make certain fields in the list required as you've mentioned above. I've done this before and it worked just fine - but when I'm doing this in the form I've listed, their red asterisks won't appear. What am I doing wrong?

You can check the Configurable List widget properties page and set the Required feature to Yes.

    Here's a screenshot:

You can also check the complete guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/282-How-to-Set-Up-the-Configurable-List-Widget

I think you're referring to this configuration:

Please try it and let us know if you need further help. Thank you.

Hi there so I’ve already done this, and it’s still not working. If you refer to the form link I sent, you’ll see I have the requirement set to yes and asterisks in front of the ones I want required and yet it isn’t showing them as required - just the configurable list as a whole

Sorry, but there wasn't a form link in your first response and last response. I checked your last edited form "200691027301038", but could not find a Configurable List widget in the form.

I assume that you are referring to the form "200637108021239 COMPANY Driver's Time Record".

When I checked the form, all three fields marked as required are working:

As you can see, all three fields that you have marked a required are working correctly as it is not allowing me to submit the form. However, the actual asterisk in red is not shown since you have modified the CSS to display the fields vertically.

The sample they provide is wrong.  You need to set the asterisk before the column type, which is the second field, not the first one (which is the column name) .  So something like this:

    Do you like this answer?:*radio:Yes,No

    NOT like this:
    *Do you like this answer?:radio:Yes,No

I just tried it and follow the image sample and it is working fine.

Please share the form and the Fields Configuration of your Configurable List so we can check it further.

Hey guys - so is there a way to have the red asterisk display even though we have the configurable list widget displaying veritically? I worry our users will think those fields are not required (because they don't see the asterisk) and then call us when they can't seem to submit the form.

    Hi,

I cloned the form and I was able to replicate the issue. The required * symbol is not showing due to the custom CSS code for the vertical Configurable List widget.

Please let me check it further and see if there's a workaround to show the Required * symbol. I will get back to you once I have any updates.

    Thank you.
