    Separate First Name and Last Name on Email Notification

    Asked by nickjones on June 11, 2013 at 09:32 AM

    Name field has to objects, #first_1, #last_1 but submission email only has {name1}.  How can I pull the First and last names from the Name Box separatly, so that my notification email has something like this.  or even pick up the suffix if I need to.

    Forename: {name1(#first_1)}

    Surname: {name1(#last_1)}

    Hi,

    Just use, first and last and append it to the fullname tag. An example using your fullname tag would be:

    {name1:first}

    {name1:last}

    ---

    By the way, #first_1 and #last_1 are field IDs. They are different from the email field tags. They are used for creating CSS codes to simply customize the layout of the fields. How to Inject Custom CSS Codes to your Form

    Thanks!

    When I use {name:first} on field {name} I just get the first letter of the first name.

    Has the syntax changed?

    Hi,

    Though this is quite an old thread, the syntax should be the same.  I just tested a form with the "Full Name" field and was able to split the first and last name by using my colleagues method:

    As far as I can tell it should be the same.  If you still have any issues getting this to work, please create a new thread since this one is quite old.  That was we can address your issue separately.

    I just tried this method and the auto responder email to the user still populates both first and last names.

     Edit: My bad. I missed the second reference to the person's name. It DOES work. Thanks.
