Nomination and Voter forms?

I'm running a contest where people have to nominate a nonprofit and then encourage others to vote for that nonprofit. I'm not sure if I'm doing it the best way but I currently have two forms: nomination and voting. The nomination form only allows each nomination to be submitted once. After that I would like the submissions from the nomination field to automatically populate a drop down menu in the voting form. Is there a way to do this? If not, is there a better way of setting up this type of contest?

(So basically taking the data from one form and having it become the field options in another form)

You can achieve this by utilizing all the methods and processes describe on the ff: guides

    1. How-to-Post-Submission-Data-to-Thank-You-Page -- to transfer the submissions from one form to another

    2. How-to-get-your-Form-Source-Code -- because you will need to recreate the voting form using its source code and add your own javascript code to pre-populate the drop down field with data that was collected form the nomitation form

Recently, JotForm had made the API available (see documentation:

You can use the API to collect and transfer data between the 2 forms. As it is still in BETA, you may encounter some setback. You can contact the API team for your further inquiry.

But if OK to suggest, my suggestion will be to simplify your requirement... the biggest obstacle apparently is -- the form is not capable of importing data into the form from outside resource using the form builder alone. That is why you have to use the form's source code (do your own programming thing..). This is making your voting form complicated.

My simple suggestion, is just use 2 forms

The nomination form is a unique submission form -- How-to-Set-Unique-Submissions-on-a-Form

You have to setup a pre-determined value for the drop down lists in the nominationvoting form and then setup unique question --

so that the form user will be restricted to only 1 answer each time.

Hope this help. Inform us if you have further inquiry.
