I like this feature. A great one for CV submissions. However, how can I let the user choose between two options (one of them has to be a must): to upload the personal photo OR to use this widget of taking a photo.
Appreciate your help in this matter.

You can use the file upload field to take a photo or upload a photo using your mobile device.

Please give it a try and let us know if this fits your requirements.

By the way, it only works on mobile phones and not on desktops. That means,
the camera app opens on the mobile but not on the desktop.
Thanks anyways.

Yes, for desktop there is an alternative widget, here it's the link: https://www.jotform.com/widgets/take-photo
I'm afraid that the basic file upload field cannot be configured to take a photo, but alternatively you may use this widget.
I hope this helps.

samer.aljamalReplied on May 14, 2020 at 6:28 PMThank you for your help. I'll try this in a while. However, this brings us
back to my first question. Uploading a photo is a mandatory requirement.
How can I give the responder the option whether to upload the photo from
his existing gallery or to actually take a live photo using the widget you
just mentioned?
The probelm is now a technical issue: To choose either one of the two
options. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may use both elements and add a new field asking which method they would like to use, this may be a radio button, then you can set up conditions to show the corresponding element.
This guide will help you to set up the conditions: https://www.jotform.com/help/316-How-to-Show-or-Hide-Fields-Base-on-User-s-Answer
I hope this helps.

Also, you can set both elements as required, the validation will only be triggered for visible fields.

samer.aljamalReplied on May 15, 2020 at 7:28 AMHi,
I don't know why it's not working properly. I have set the needed
conditions, yet something is still wrong.
Can you please have a look at the form and help me with it? Would
really appreciate it.

I would suggest to disable your recent conditions and hide your upload field and widget.
Then add your condition to show the field base on selection.

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.
