Hi, In Chrome and Safari the calendar popups are not going away when you leave the date fields. See http://web.mit.edu/museum/education/reservation-request.html
Our account is 'mitmuseum'.
Is there something we're doing wrong?

I was able to reproduce this issue when checking the form on your website http://web.mit.edu/museum/education/reservation-request.html
BUT using the direct URL of the form http://www.jotform.com/form/20115603235 it work just fine.
It is possibly caused by script conflict between your website and the form.
I suggest to please try re-embedding the form using its iframe code this time.
Use this guide Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code to get the form's iframe code to embed.
Please try this and inform us if this does not make any difference.

My form does the exact same thing - both in preview and on my website. I've tried on Chrome on both mac and windows as well as Safari on the mac :(

Apparantly it works now (I have no idea what I did, however) - so that won't be neccesary.
But I will remember to open a new post in the future :)

@Allan Doyle, I have also tested your website link and I think mathiasmadsen is correct it is working fine now both on my Firefox and Chrome.
I also see that you are now using the iFrame code as what my colleague Jonathan has suggested earlier. This could be the reason that it is behaving correctly now.
If you are still seeing problems to it, I recommend that you clear your browser's caches and load your page again.
