    Populating fields on submission

Asked by craiggallup on April 26, 2011 at 05:58 PM

When someone submits a form it is not populating the address fields? I like the way the form looks on jotform when you check the submission. Is there anyway to have that sent to your personal email instead of the stock html form?

    Hi Craiggallup,

The Address is not populated in the email notification because the variable
assigned is incorrect. In the body of the notification the variable used for
the address is {Address} but the correct variable should be {address42}.

This usually happens when you edit notification email body for a form.
Once you edit the email manually, it stops getting updated automatically
with the changes you make on the form. The solution is probably to fix
the field name on the email or reset your email.

Here is how to reset email:
    1. Open your form on the Form Builder
    2. Click on "Setup and Embed" tab,
    3. Click on "Email Alerts",
    4. Select "Notification",
    5. Click on "Delete Email" button,
    6. Click on "Email Alerts" again,
    7. Click on "Add New Email" and complete the wizard,
    8. Save your form.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you! That should do the trick at least it worked on the test email. I will see what happens when someone fills the website form.
