What does "Require log-in to see submissions" actually do?

Read forum and info and this check box in settings makes no sense. What does it actually do?  Does it matter if forms encrypted?

    thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark

By unchecking the option "Require login to see submissions", you would allow any user to see submissions using direct URLs. When it is selected, they will be requested to log in if they want to see their own submissions, for example. It has no relation to encrypted forms.

Please let us know if we can assist you any further.

    Hi @MBS77

If you want to share your submissions page, you must enable a different option:

Please have a look and let us know how it goes.

You must be referring to your my account privacy settings https://www.jotform.com/myaccount/settings

The "Require log-in to see submissions" option prevent just anyone (public) from viewing the submission data of your form.

If another person have technical understanding on how to construct the direct link manually to view the submission data of the form (i.e. similar to the URL link when sharing the submission page), they will not be able to view the data when it requires log in.

Example, if the direct URL link to the form submission data is  https://www.jotform.com/data/1234567890 , if the privacy setting is off, the submission data can be easily viewed.

There are users who set this to OFF to allow another user that do not have access to the account to view the data of specific form.  They just wanted the other  user to view the data but not give them the account log in credentials.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

The privacy setting "Require log-in to see submissions." is not related to submission or inbox page. If you want to share submission page of form, it will always require a password to login.

If you uncheck this privacy setting in your account and you share PDF link with your users, they will be able to download the PDF file with link but if this privacy setting is checked, they will not be able to download the submission PDF using the PDF link.

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Hi @MBS77

I am sorry but I am not sure I understood your question.

Are you referring to a specific feature?

If you are located in EU, you will notice that your form link and PDF link will use the EU sub domain (i.e. https://eu.jotform.com)

If you have also set your account data to use EU Datacenter, then your form data will always be stored in EU server.
