I noticed that I am not alone in this... I run a business where clients are required to upload files through a form. The files and pdf of the form should then be connected to my dropbox folder. On numerous occasions, clients have sent me private emails to say that the upload form was not working! It is starting to be a real concern as I am losing time and business. As I am sure you can understand, the system must work flawlessly and must for successful and satisfactory business operation.
I also find the forms slow to load on the page and uploads to be incredibly slow! So I guess you might say I am not very happy with the service & only opted for it since it did integrate with Paypal & Dropbox seemingly easily. It would be really great if you could incorporate a KB/s meter into form uploads to monitor the upload rate.
Sometimes, the file upload works OK but then the file does not connect with DROPBOX... Just the PDF.
Also, another problem is that sometimes, the form does not load up completely and I have to refresh the page (sometimes even several times in a row!)... Very unprofessional look for me.
I have been able to replicate the problem at my end so I know that it is not a server issue. I also know that my domain has not had any issues at the time I achieved the error so this suggests a buggy form script.
I will have to now seek a programmer to create my form from scratch - one that is reliable as it seems that Jotform is only good for very basic forms... Or perhaps I am mssing something and you can point me in the right direction?
However, any attempt to fix this at your end would not go unoticed...

Can you please try to reingrate the dropbox and replace the current embed script code with IFRAME embed tag as the current embed script code might be having some conflict with the other scripts installed in your website.
If the issue still persist, please contact us again and tell us how we could replicate the same issue as I am unable to replicate the same issue in my end.

I will certainly give that a shot... thanks!

This will take some time before I can assess whether or not this will fix my problems. In the meantime, I have a question:
How many kilbytes per second do you get per second when you upload? Obviously this depends on you ISP and how close you are to the server but the reason I ask is that using Jotform I get a much slower upload speed than with wetransfer.com (for example)...
Is there anyway to speed this up?
- jefreylandichoAnswered on June 27, 2013 at 12:26 PM
Yes you are right. There are many things that could affect the download/upload speed. My ISP upload speed is 1.25Mbps according to speedtest.net. You can try optimizing your website by following the guidelines in google speed test and see if it helps improving your site speed.

Ah, perhaps you misunderstood my question... My website is fast... no problem there!
I am referring specifically to the file upload time via JOTFORM... So this is related to the server of the jotform end no doubt. I am wanting to increase upload speeds in the form on my website. This should operate as fast as my ISP will allow but as I said... Uploads with other sites are much faster than with through my Jotform.... ???
Approx 30 kb/s through Jotform form
Approx 110 Kb/s uploading file to wetransfer.com
These measurements are from the same place and consequently same ISP

Hi there, Still working? I don't mean to be rude but you guys work really slowly!!! Well over 3 months now...
I think I need to come up with another solution now and get a professional form built that allows for efficient uploads and some better reliability/stability....
A shame really as the concept is excellent!

I can see that this issue was already assigned to one of our developers with "important" priority, as soon as we get some news we will let you know,
thanks for your patience.

I'm starting to think we made a mistake by going with this service with the upload speed being so slow. Our upload speed is 18mbps and it's taking well over an hour for a 200mb file to upload. I tested on both the embed and the direct link.
Is this going to be addressed soon?

Thanks for informing us about your experience with the upload function. However, we would appreciate if you open a new thread to post your questions so that we can give you the proper assistance to your concern. That will help us to avoid any confusion with all previous the questions and answers of this thread and will allow us to find the better solution.

Iagree. No need for a new thread as the issues and sentiment conveyed by @ZeitgeistMastering mirror my own.
1) speed of the upload is way to slow.
2) ZeitgeistMastering asked in his initial inquiry if you could add an indicator that would allow the uploader to see progress (i.e . something that would show a % completed). Is that something that is possible or can that can be added? As the wait time is so long, it would be good for people to at least know that the upload is working however slowly that may be happening.

Apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused you.
We are splitting some questions or posts from the other users so that we can better assist them with their own issues.
Please allow me to inform you that we are constantly improving the JotForm builder to ensure the user's experience is smooth and as fast as possible. However, uploads speed depends on several factors such as the ISP and the amount of traffic during the specific time. We understand your decision to look for other options, nevertheless, we are always here to help you with any issue that you may experience should you choose to stay with JotForm.
