    Pictures in Email or PDF

Asked by arslankebap on June 28, 2013 at 04:23 AM

    Hi,

Is it possible to AUTOMATICALLY include the pictures of my form in my emails or in the pdf (or better: in both) ?

It is important that the recipients of the email also see the pictures next to the questions (a link isn't sufficient).

I already searched google for it, but could only find this old thread:

    http://www.jotform.com/answers/94966-Is-it-possible-to-embed-attached-user-uploaded-images-in-the-pdf-file

But that only describes how to do it MANUALLY after a submission (and I would need to download every single pdf

after that and send every single one manually in an email... not a viable option) .

    Thank you for your help!

The images are already included in the PDF and emails via image links

but if you are pertaining to having the image itself and not the image link, unfortunately that would not possible at the moment. Our developers however are already working on integrating this feature as it has already been requested by several users.

I may have not been specific enough, you misunderstood me:

My form includes many different pictures (already uploaded to jotform), next to them are questions and several multiple choice answers. The questions are specifically related to every single picture. The Person answering the questions sees the pictures and the questions and answers them, then sends the form. The RECEIVER of the email needs to see the pictures to also understand the questions and the answers.

So the pictures in the form need to be included in the email or the attached pdf (as the email or pdf will be printed).

But the email template and pdf only show questions and answers. To include every single picture in the email template would be twice the work (placing them in the form and placing them in the email-template).

    Hi,

You cannot retrieve the images into your Form Notification and when downloading the PDF Version of each particular submissions because you have added the images using our "Image" field instead of adding the images as your Checkbox Field Options.

I suggest you to revised your form and include the images as the option to your checkbox fields. Example: http://form.jotform.co/form/31783806674868?. Test this form and you will receive and Auto Responder with the images so with the PDF file download.

    Thanks

To insert an image in your email notification, you can either use the Insert Image icon or <IMG> tag for HTML mode.  The insert Image icon is located at the top of the email notification compose window.

If you need to use the HTML window, click the HTML icon on the right side of the insert image icon and add the <IMG> tag to insert the image e.g. <img src="//domain.com/yourimage.jpg" />.

In your Checkbox Option Area, add the following codes:

    LOCK & LOAD - 1: <img alt="" class="form-image" border="0" src="https://www.jotform.com/uploads/arslankebap/form_files/DSC08045-2.jpg" height="300" width="200" align="absmiddle">

Please be sure to change the Image URL and hit Shift+Enter to include another image.

    Thanks

Thanks a lot ! Solved my problem! One last question:

Do you guys know if I can delete the uploaded pictures (uploaded into jotform with "image") from my form,

but use their jotform-url for the checkboxes? Or do I need to upload all to some server and

    use those url ?

Right now, even though I deleted the "image"-uploads their url do still work in the checkboxes.

    @arslankebap

Yes you should be able to delete the images. It must be a cache issue. Request you to please share your image URL which you have deleted and we will have a check.

    Thanks,

Deleting images works without an issue, but I do want to use the url of DELETED images for the checkboxes, so I don't need to upload all to another server (since they are already on jotforms server, even after deleting them).

I tried it with several images: copied the url of an uploaded image, deleted the image and pasted the url of the image in the checkboxes. That works, so the images remain on the servers of jotform.

But I'm afraid that the url of the images won't work after some time, is that the case?!

    Yes. This is correct.
If you uploaded and image to JotForm and uses its URL to display the image in your email or PDF AND deleted the image afterwards, the URL of the image will not work anymore.
There might be a slight delay due to cache, but once the cache got cleared, the link URL of the image will not work anymore.

Just to inform you, the only way to delete your uploaded images or when using the image field is by deleting submssions (for uploaded image) OR  by deleting the image field (if uploaded via the image field)

Hope this answers your question. Kindly inform us if this is not the answer you were looking for.

    Thanks.
