This form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/31831629931962
A HTML or grid report gives the correct submission time as per time zone I am in: http://www.jotform.com/table/31832224113037
An RSS report delivers an incorrect submission time for my timezone:
- jefreylandichoAnswered on July 03, 2013 at 09:30 AM
It appears the RSS shows the time for the person who submitted it and not the time for the receiver. I have forwarded your concern to our developers to investigate what is causing this issue. Kindly wait for their response regarding this matter.
- markashtonAnswered on July 03, 2013 at 09:37 AM
You know what .. I can break jotform at will .. and I don't mean to be a bighead.
Take on function ... give it the rounds ... you'll come up with 3 bugs ....
My real question is ... who has been using the RSS feed function all this time and been happy with having the time out by 5 hours?
Either that or every user bar me ... is in the same timezone
- dinesh-itAnswered on July 03, 2013 at 10:40 AM
A Bug Report ticket is already opened for this issue. We Will update you once we get any information from our Developers.
- markashtonAnswered on July 10, 2013 at 05:00 AM
Now the email is all on the blink I've turned to the alternative of using an RSS feed in some of my forms. Makes sense ;-)
Of course, there is a quality control issue with clients as the times are delivered incorrectly - in the wrong timezone.
Would you be kind enough to address this bug so that RSS feed data is delivered with the submission date in the correct time zone i.e. as per the user settings
- JotForm FounderaytekinAnswered on July 10, 2013 at 06:21 AM
Thanks Mark for your reminder. This issue is still in our bug list and tagged as Important.
- markashtonAnswered on July 22, 2013 at 04:46 AM
I have started using the RSS method in preference to email.
A few clients have asked me to deliver submissions with the correct time.
Any chance you can nail this one - sounds a lit lame saying I can't deliver submissions with the correct time
- JotForm SupportEltonCrisAnswered on July 22, 2013 at 08:06 AM
Thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately, we still don't have updates about this. This has been on the developers hand already so we asked your patience on this process. They will provide updates on this thread as soon as this gets fixed.
Apologies for the inconveniences caused.
- markashtonAnswered on August 01, 2013 at 02:11 PM
Can you sort this bug please?
Pretty fundamental isn't it?
Your RSS Feeds spew out incorrect submission dates to anyone in the UK ... that's every person using a Jotform RSS feed in the UK.
If this isn't the case ... then tell me how to get what the otehrs are getting.
Clients think I'm a twat !
What says you ...
"Thanks for your patience. I have submitted your concern to our developers"
- JotForm SupportMike_TAnswered on August 01, 2013 at 03:51 PM
I believe that this is showing the server time zone for everyone. When there was no JotForm API access, some developers used the RSS report as an XML data source, and probably server time was more preferred for them. Anyway, the bug ticket is open and someone from our Development Team will fix it.
- markashtonAnswered on August 01, 2013 at 03:51 PM
Worth flagging. Thanks
- markashtonAnswered on August 20, 2013 at 08:51 AM
Do you think you should fix this?
Especially as it makes every rss report ... that every jotform user creates ... incorrect
It's a global bug with your system and you've just let people get on with creating RSS reports that delivers incorrect data.
I know you're busy but i'm suprised
- jeanettebmzAnswered on August 20, 2013 at 11:43 AM
You guessed correctly, our developers have been busy with prioritized tasks. However, this ticket is marked as important, so hopefully it will be sorted out sooner than later
- markashtonAnswered on October 24, 2013 at 07:50 AM
So .. in over two months from your reply jeanette ...
... and three months from Aytekins declaration on July 10th ... that this was set as priority important on a bug list ... it is still not done
This leads me to conclude that your statements should be taken with a pinch of salt ...
.... you know Richard Branson started an entire airline from scratch and had it up and running globally within the time you advised me that this was a bug and "important" ! True
I'd love to see all the tasks that have been done since then ... all important bugs no doubt ... even though you have developed an App function to the site but haven't sorted basic timezone bugs for existing clients....
I dunno ... really ... what can I say !
- JotForm SupportjonathanAnswered on October 24, 2013 at 08:13 AM
Yes, this ticket is still open and still on important priority up to this time.
I am sorry, as you understand already, our dev have no update on this yet.
We ask for more understanding and patience.
Notification for you will be instant as soon as updates are available.
- markashtonAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 10:01 AM
Would you be kind enough to present me with a bug fix list of the last 3 months. I'd be extremely grateful to see what bugs have been fixed since this bug was priority important as per Aytekin's declaration on July 10th getting on for a third of a year !!
You see ... my massive outstanding list has not had one bug fix I've been able to sign off for weeks ... I simply do not believe you ... either that or all my bugs and requests are utter crap ...
Indulge me ... by looking at my list ... ie my jotform audit list of outstanding issues ... what does it say to you ??
Hey everyone .... these are to do with the new view that has promise but seems to be making no progress whatsoever after losing most of its good features from the old view ... I think the odd bug has been sorted ...
This is long isn't it ....
EDIT ... Actually to be fair some/ a lot of the below are not relevent or have been sorted .... but have a glance to see if any resonate. Ta
- JotForm SupportEltonCrisAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 11:08 AM
First off, our apologies if the requested feature/reported bugs was not implemented on the expected time frame. We would like to ask your patience again on giving us more time as I'm sure we will all get there and we would be happy to inform you once each of your reports/features are applied to Jotform.
I will try to get updates about this but yet honestly I couldn't promise you anything in return. Only our developers knows so if I get any, I will brought it here.
Thank you once again for your continued support to Jotform, that's greatly appreciated.
- markashtonAnswered on June 19, 2014 at 07:34 AM
Priority my ass.
I'm having to manually convert all these time stamps for RSS feeds ... they don't make sense. Client said "What's with the time s**t?"
The RSS feed provides submissions on your timezone ... not mine.
A person in UK submits at 11.00am .... I'm receiving RSS at 11.00am .... your RSS report states time .... 5.00am or something like that ....
Isn't it about time you amended this annoying bug ... and save me all the resource and time I've had to put in advising you about it.
I want the RSS timestamp to have some bearing on the reality I live in! Reasonable suggestion.
Don't tell me its "High Priority" or that developers will get back to me ... the last time you said that was 9 months ago ... look at the thread.
- JotForm FounderaytekinAnswered on June 19, 2014 at 07:49 AM
Thanks for reminding us about this issue. I have increased its priority to Urgent now and assigned it to one of our maintenance developers directly. It was Important before and it was assigned to the maintenence team.
- markashtonAnswered on June 19, 2014 at 07:50 AM
Thanks Aytekin ... appreciate it.
Getting great value out of Jotform
- alp_denizAnswered on June 20, 2014 at 07:21 AM
Thank you for your input. I would like to let you know that this issue is fixed and submission dates in RSS feeds are adjusted as required.
- markashtonAnswered on June 20, 2014 at 07:58 AM
Great news man.
Amazing what a pompous outburst can do with good timing eh?
Shall come back if anything untoward.
- S6oof16Answered on June 20, 2014 at 08:48 AM
- markashtonAnswered on June 20, 2014 at 10:25 AM
Although the submission date is correct ... I note that the post date as stamped on the incoming RSS entries is now incorrect.
Check this ... it is 14:26 here as correct on pic ... but the post date is completely incorrect
- alp_denizAnswered on June 20, 2014 at 12:01 PM
I have just applied a fix for this. Could you please confirm that it is fully fixed?
Thanks for your help. Regards
- markashtonAnswered on June 21, 2014 at 12:16 PM
Have tested ... no change whatsoever I'm afraid ....
Created new RSS Feed and did a submission ... see times
- KadeJMAnswered on June 21, 2014 at 03:49 PM
Thanks for the update and I see what you mean about that. I've made a note about this for our devs to look at and get back to you again as soon as they can.
- alp_denizAnswered on June 22, 2014 at 05:50 AM
Thank you very much for your help. The issue is found out to be caused by the latest modifications, as RSS feeds already have a time offset assigned (as specified in RFC 822), which was conflicting with previously converted time.
I am able to confirm that it displays correctly on Firefox RSS reader.
- markashtonAnswered on June 23, 2014 at 07:43 AM
Looked at this ... looks fine.
I'll feed back with any problems that I come across. Good job ;-)
