Receiving fake / duplicate submissions in form.

We've had three separate email submissions so far that seem to be false.  Yesterday, a form was submitted from someone that did not submit it at that time.  Today we got an email for a submission that was actually from yesterday.  I turned on IP in the submission view, but I only did that this morning.  The false email from just now (dated yesterday) also shows in the submissions.  Is this a security issue?

Could you let us know the form URL where you are facing this issue? Please also let us know the submissions which you believe are fake.

How have you shared your form with your users? Are you sending them the direct form link to fill or have you embedded this form on any website? If you have embedded the form on any website, please provide us the website URL too.

I am sorry for the trouble caused to you.  I did check your form and I seem you are receiving duplicate submissions but on different time and sometime IP is also different. Can you please check with your user if they are refreshing the thank-you page next day or some other time? If they are not manually submitting the form again, the data should not be duplicated.

I would suggest you to please add "Captcha" field in form which will prevent form resubmission if they are resubmitting form accidentally. Please check the screenshot below:

Please add "Captcha" field in your form and see if that solves your problem. If you continue to receive duplicate submissions that means someone is manually and intentionally submitting form again but you can prevent such duplicate submissions. Here are the options available:

#1. Unique Submission: You can take advantage of our unique submission feature to block multiple submissions from one system of one IP address by setting the "Check Cookies Only (Loose check)" or "Check Cookies & IP address (Strict Check)" respectively. Here is a guide to help you set unique submission:  http://www.jotform.com/help/64-How-to-Set-Unique-Submissions-on-a-Form

#2. Unique Question: You can also use our unique question feature to prevent from submitting duplicate submissions. Example: You can set one of your forms question (like cell number or email address) to be a unique question. This will not allow a user to use the same cell number or email address to submit your form. Here is a guide to help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/223-How-to-set-Form-Limits-Based-on-a-Unique-Question

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Hi,

The duplicate submissions problem is now resolved. We added some preventive measures to help deter unwanted resubmissions of the previous entry. This should not happen again.

    Thanks!
