The multiple file upload function does not allow for the taking of photos "within the workflow of the form" on an Iphone. You can only select multiple photos .. which is good ... but unlike the single upload option you cannot take a photo/ multiple photos at that point in the form filling in process.
Bit of a shame. Can you advise me on whether you were aware of this ... and how does it work on an android device.
Many thanks Regards Mark

Thank you for contacting us with regards to this matter. I will now submit ticket to our dev team with regards to this feature.
We will contact you immediately once this feature implemented. As of now, we can't provide you and ETA to when this feature be implemented
Have a nice day!

In addition, you can download your form source code and modify it using some 3rd party controls in order to achieve what you want in your form.
- markashtonAnswered on July 04, 2013 at 08:47 AM
I already do the Source code download thing.
Would you be kind enough to give me a lead on what you mean with regard to enabling it "by using some 3rd party controls"
Any vague idea what I would need to do?
- KadeJMAnswered on July 04, 2013 at 12:00 PM
Hi Mark, I think that what my colleague meant by that was that it is possible to create your own controller for it by using some custom programming with the form's source code to build this. I believe this was a general note about this as it actually depends on how you want to go about doing it if you are going to design mesh it into the form's source code somehow since at the moment we don't really have a feature for it which is why we've added it to our request list.
If we figure out something more or anything changes on this we will most certainly let you know.

You mean he was just palming me off with something he hadn't thought through ... no example code ... no website links ... nothing ...
What pinoytech was actually proposing was a "notion"
I'll bury that then ... it'll never happen
- KadeJMAnswered on July 04, 2013 at 02:11 PM
I didn't mean that to deter or sabotage anyone when I said that, it was merely theoretical based on what we already know so it was an example when I refered to him saying that. It's possible that he may have had something in mind so I can't rule it out though I am not sure of it since I'm unable to speak to him at the moment. It should be possible but producing it would take awhile.
Alot of us try our best to come up with solutions and workarounds but often it takes a good amount of time, some research, configuring, and playing around with the code. I'll bookmark this and see what I can dig up for this and perhaps Pinoy might have further actual input since i've seen some good examples from him before in other threads.

Thanks ... sorry it can be frustrating ... I keep hitting all these hurdles ... Its like the Truman show but with software ... solutions come along like buses ... and are road-blocked by one thing or another
Appreciate your time ... one thing I can say is that Photo upload on Smartphones needs to have a warning that it can't be done to an adequate standard with Jotform at this current time ... otherwise people will waste their time for hours and you'll get all the flack

This is a bit strange issue as we use the same field type for Single and Multiple upload fields. I will ask my colleague to test it, so that we will be able to provide our Developers with additional information on this case.
Note, I can not reproduce it on my Android device, the camera option is showing up for both Single and Multiple upload fields from my side.
- markashtonAnswered on July 04, 2013 at 03:25 PM
Interesting ... you can take a photo on multiple upload with Android but not with Iphone. Could a colleague check on their Iphone ... that multiple upload field does not have the capability to take a photo on its initiation.
Thanks Mike, Regards mark

I confirm this issue.
On iOS (iPad or iPhone) you can choose either to "Take Photo or Video" or "Choose Existing" when using the file upload for a single file.
However, if you enable "Allow Multiple" then you can no longer take a photo or video...you can only select from the device's gallery.
This may be some kind of issue with how iOS handles a request for multiple files. Perhaps it sees the request for multiple files as not being able to be fulfilled by the camera (you can only take one photo or one video at that moment) and so it disables it. That is just a wild guess.

It is indeed a limitation of iOS:

It would be best create you own new thread regarding your concern. We will be able to assist you properly when you do.
Use this link to do this http://www.jotform.com/contact/
We will atttend to your post as soon as we can
- monumarkactivationAnswered on December 05, 2013 at 03:49 PM
With much respect, my first post is a direct confirmation of the issue that the OP referred to. Furthermore, my second reply directly explains why the behavior of the original post is happening (it is an iOS limitation).
I, myself, have no concern. I was simply providing a confirmation of the OP's experience and then providing the answer as to why this experience occurs (an iOS limitation, not JotForm).
Finally, I believe the original poster would appreciate an answer as to why it is occuring, which is why I posted the answer here.

We do appreciate your posts. Thank you for your input and link to the Stackoverflow thread, it was interesting to read.
- markashtonAnswered on December 11, 2013 at 01:49 AM
@monumarkactivation is correct ... I do appreciate the answer ... and you're right to keep it to this thread as it is entirely identical ...
@jotform ... stop getting people to create new threads when the thread they are answering is the exact issue. How are we supposed to track stuff otherwise.
- JotForm SupportWelvinAnswered on December 11, 2013 at 07:27 AM
Our apologies. We'll do but if someone would reply here with a report, we might still ask to create a separate thread. That's for the purpose of providing support individually. We sometimes ask a few more questions. These questions might confused the OP.
Thanks for the feedback :)
