Downloaded files are encrypted - but not showing as encrypted when viewing in browser

    Hello,

I have a petition and need to be able to download the submissions tomorrow morning. I am testing out the download feature now, and for some reason the downloaded files are showing up as encrypted.

I do have the encryption turned on on my form - however, I have the key, and enter the key when asked, and can see all data just fine when looking at the submissions in the web browser.

Can you please let me know how to download the files without showing up as encrypted?

    Thank you,

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

    Happy to help you today,

Before I look into this can you please tell me the type of the files that you are trying to download?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Thanks

    H Vick,

Thanks for the answer - I would be happy with any type of download. So far I've tried downloading both the xlsx and the CVS and they both download as encrypted.

I tried to download a pdf, and it took like 2+ hours to prepare for download. I went to sleep as it was still preparing - just got on to check it, and don't see the downloaded file anywhere.

A simple question here - if i had the encryption turned on for a form, does it mean that I can't download that data (as a pdf, xlsx, etc) to my computer at all as a viewable document?

I am supposed to turn in this data in 3 hours - it is roughly 10,000 submissions to a very important petition. Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Best,

    D

If I can't figure out how to download the info, without it being encrypted, I am going to have to manually go through and copy and paste the data (just over 10,000 names and email addresses) into a new document. So again, any help would be amazing!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your message.

In this case, the Encrypter submissions can be just viewed in your browser under your submission dashboard.

To decrypt the data in your Jotform dashboard please follow the steps here: Encrypted-Forms-and-How-to-Use-Them#How-Can-I-Decrypt-the-Data-from-the-Email-or-Through-the-Submissions-Page.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know. We will be happy to help.
