Duplicate submissions - Same submissions coming multiple times at a different time

These are also coming into our Jotform inbox multiple times. Because we have to download EVERY one of these forms submitted into our patient charts, it is making it quite cumbersome to be receiving multiple submissions for each form into our jotform inbox.

Is there a way or a setting that will only allow one submission per form to be submitted into our inbox and emailed to us?

    Thank you for your assistance.

We're sorry to hear that. We are aware of this issue and we have already raised it to our developers. Once this is fixed, we will inform you here.

We found out that the duplicate submissions occur due to this browser settings "Continue where you left off". On mobile browsers, this is its default setting.

So here's what happened, when the user submits the form and exits the browser, the browser kept the last visited URL which is your form's thank you page. When the user opens the browser again at a later time, it automatically loads the thank you page and triggers a new submission with the same data originally submitted by the user.

Here's a visual animation that shows the problem.

To overcome this, please use an external thank you page rather than the default thank you message for now. So when the user opens the browser, it loads the external link instead of the default thank you page and this will not trigger submission. Here's a guide on how to redirect to an external link after submission How to Redirect to a Page After Form Submission. If you don't have a custom thank you page, you can use this link https://www.jotform.com/thankyou.html

Alternatively, you can add a Captcha to your form. When the thank you page is reloaded, the captcha would appear and will not trigger a submission until the captcha is filled.

Thank you! This was a perfect explanation. We were easily able to create a new page on our website in order to redirect submissions. Worked 100%!!!

We have now fixed the problem with duplicate submissions. We added some preventive measures to help deter unwanted resubmissions of the previous entry. This should not happen again.
