editing a form field with submission data

If we have to make an edit to a field question, but someone has an incomplete submission in limbo, will it erase any of their data if we make that edit?

We don't recommend editing/deleting a field with submission data. I would suggest if you would like to edit/delete a field, you may add a new field and hide the old one. This will prevent the old submission data from being deleted.

    Hope this information helps.

    Hi Richie,

In this instance, I needed to edit a word in the question of a short text field. I wasn't deleting any fields. However, I was concerned as I know there was an incomplete submission at the time, that if I edit that word, will that user lose their saved data (as we've had an issue with people losing their information when using the Save & Continue Later feature on a regular basis).

    Thanks,

Thank you for the added information, labels should not be a problem only field deletion.
