    PaypalTransaction ID# identified as "txn_id" should be shown in the Payer info section and into the autoresponder email body

    How do I add a Paypal Transaction ID Number to my customer's AUTO-REPLY notification email?

    When I get a auto-reply notification from JotForm that indicates my payment has been processed by PayPal successfully, we'd like to add the transaction ID from PayPal underneath "Payer Info." This would indicate a successful transaction and would also help us cross reference the order.

    This field is called "txn_id" on each IPN from PayPal. So, they are sending it to you already. You all would have to add this on your end to get the Transaction ID to show. PLEASE HELP!

    I have requested to have the ability to include  txn_id into the email autoresponder for our current Paypal Integration.

    Can you please tell me if you are able to see this in your current pending transactions? I made a test with a form of mine and I was not able to see it.  Did you learn about this from Paypal support?

    At any rate, I hope this feature will be implemented soon, however I cannot provide you with a time frame for this.

    This is awesome news! Thank you for adding this feature. I will check this integration under a test form.

    I did learn this from PayPal support this afternoon. They said the only way for their transaction number to appear on the JotForm auto responder was for you all to include the field in your hard coded PayPal module. I am hoping this information appears under the "Payer Info" section.

    Also, PayPal did mention that they are already sending JotForm the Transaction ID # so all you all have to do is include the field from the IPN (Instant Payment Notification).

    Does this make sense? Do you need anymore details to make this happen? You're awesome!

    We can see the transaction ID in communications from PayPal, once they process the order...however, we'd like to see it on the JotForm Auto-Responder side as this provides a valuable cross-reference for the client. We'd like to see this in the Payer Info section that comes back from PayPal indicating the order went through successfully.

    I need to tell our client something as far as what and when to expect this functionality to be live. The event is at the end of September...and both our client and his clients will need to see this number to cross reference the purchase. Please adivse.

    Understood. Thanks for responding. If you could give this any added heat underneath the ticket to get this done any sooner, would be greatly appreciated! Looks like a relatively quick add since all we're doing is adding one field to the "Payer Info" section.

    If you know of any work-arounds to where I could add a small html code or script to the Auto Responder that would add the transaction ID number...that would be awesome!

    No yet , we would appreciate your patience, a feature like this will take some time, it might appear easy, but Jotform technology is very intrincated and our developers have a list of issues and features requesst that they need to prioritize.

    Thank you for keeping us informed. Any progress on adding the Transaction ID # to orders being processed by PayPal? It's almost been a month since we requested this to be added. (August 8th marks 1 month) If this was something I could enable on my own, I would have already done this. Please advise your progress.

    The one "monthiversary" of this ticket is Thursday, August 8, 2013. Any chance we might be able to celebrate the addition of Transaction ID #'s to orders processed by PayPal by Thursday? Thanks for the status update.

    Hi.

    Yes! For us, it's absolutely essential that the Transaction ID is shown in the Payer Info - in the spreadsheet and the email. 

    @ Support Manager: I would treat this as a bug in the original specification/requirement doc!

    Can you show us just how good a Support Manager you obviously are, by pushing this to the very top of the priority list? This is an easy fix and will bring a lot happiness to a lot of people. Don't let the developers fob you off with "ooohh, I'm busy doing really important API developement". You have to show them who is boss. I'll test it for you if you like.

    Thank you for the added info and interest in this Feature. I would like to let you know that we really do understand the importance of this being essential to you and also several other users of our platform. However, it is difficult for us to provide any ETA since our developers are busy with previous issues and suggestions which are worked on in the order they are received. But on a good note though I can tell you that this thread has been marked as Important so it is near the very Top of our list for that very reason to be looked at as soon as possible. If we were able to provide an ETA on things we would most certainly do so. It's true that some of things could be done quick but a quick fix isn't always the best answer since it could cause further issues if not looked into and worked on correctly to fix it right the first time. To my knowledge Our developers are always working on several projects so this is something that is not fully controlled by us other then when we check in and escalate when necessary. So therefore I am most certain this issue will be looked into as soon as possible for everyone.

    As a matter of fact, the txn_id variable is available to us via the data sent by Paypal's IPN. However, upon trying to extract this value and add it to our email alerts system, I found out that this transaction ID is different to the one that is given to the buyer.

    The reason to this is because for every transaction, Paypal generates two different transaction IDs. One for the seller and another for the buyer. To cut the story short, Paypal does not provide access to the the transaction ID given to buyers, so there is no way for us to add that id to form email alerts.

    You may now retrieve the txn_id variable by inserting the tag {myPaypal:transactionid} to your email alerts. Replace myPaypal with your form's payment field tag.

    For example, if your payment field's tag is myProducts, such as shown below, the tag to retrieve the seller transaction ID will be {myProducts:transactionid}.

    You may place this tag anywhere on your form's email alert (yes, even on the subject line).

    Here's a sample result:

     

    On a side note, you may also retrieve other specific data from the payment field using the corresponding tags. For more information, kindly visit the latter parts of this lengthy forum conversation.

    The seller transactionid is very helpful and I tested it and it appears on the email Notification.

    But how do I ensure it is also saved in the spreadsheet when the form is submitted??

    Can I add {myProducts:transactionid} in the form somewhere and hide it?

    @ukff

     It looks like a regular tag which is normally used for your Email Notification Template to connect it to your Form to gather that information so I don't think that would work on the form itself after looking at Neil's details about this. I think this was just a fix in regards to that aspect according to his response. 

    The data though, I would think should still pull this and the rest of the necessary information into a spreadsheet which will be as it normally would show before. Have you tried this on your end? Let us know if this is working how you need it otherwise we will check it more if needed.

    Hi...yes, I've tried it....the transaction id is not in the spreadsheet.....only buyer's first name, surname, and email address are in the spreadsheet under "==Payer Info==".
