My html reports have a lot of images on them.
I find it unwieldy and not practical to click every link and have them show in a new window.
It would be great if the images showed in a lightbox - on the same page.
Could I suggest that this option is made available in the html report.
It would add tremendous value.

I have added this to our Feature Request List. However, we cannot guarantee you any timeframe or when this get implemented.
By the way, you can view images "when hover with thumbnail size".
Thanks for suggesting.

Only on the generic file upload ... not filepicker ... so limited
- JotForm SupportWelvinAnswered on July 09, 2013 at 07:36 AM
Oops! I have changed the description of the Feature Request so with the Thread Title. Thanks for the additional information.
- markashtonAnswered on July 09, 2013 at 07:40 AM
Well actually this function would be pertinent for both types of uploads.
What I am requesting here is that when an image link is clicked, in a html report, the image displays in a lightbox rather than opening a new window ... why? people like it better ... it is safer
- JotForm SupportWelvinAnswered on July 09, 2013 at 07:44 AM
I have changed the Thread Title and the report description again. Everything you've mention has been noted.

Now we have the great Report Configurations going on ... I can visualise an option that says ...
Use Lightbox To Display Images
This would give the option of firing up images in a lightbox without the user having to leave the report browser window.
Cake idea I say. can you pass this forward

Your comments have been passed forward into the ticket, Mark.

Actually, for the record I would like this to apply to the brilliant grid reports ... the html reports I don't use but I expect would be useful there too.
- markashtonAnswered on September 18, 2013 at 10:43 AM
I have a client who mentioned this regarding viewing images on the Grid report ...
"Could I see images in a lightbox rather than a new window".
The added advantage would be that all the images could be sized to fit the window too ... say a specific height for the lightbox.
This would be a great feature.
It could be added to Report Configurations ... for Grid reports ... in this way I visualise ...
Use Lightbox To Dispay Images

Hi Again Mark, We've updated the thread to match your most recent updated details about this request and thanks for letting us know about it.
- JotForm SupportkennethAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 11:47 AM
Hi mark, we just added this feature. You can now have the option to either view the images on a modal on open it and go to new tab. You dont have to worry about the width and height of the images, because the modal can make the propery sizes for you that will fit in your windows view port
Just let me know if you face any problems.
- markashtonAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 02:57 PM
It's total class but I have hit a couple of problems:
I have changed this report ... ticked the modal box ... and look:
Goes into a permanent loop. Tried disabling it and it goes bak to OK ... but this looks like a side effect of this new integration ....
It has also been reported on this thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/263616-Grid-Reports-Hang-In-A-Loading-Loop-On-Using-Search-In-Submissions-Box
- markashtonAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 03:27 PM
Ok ... so I created a new exact copy of the report here: http://demomr.myresearch.info/grid/33036484322045
Works fine with modal activity

Thank you for your update. The lightboxes are working great on my side too. Now the report even more pretty and easy to use for the end user.
- markashtonAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 04:50 PM
I agree Mike ... it's ace but there is an issue of load times to make it really usable .. as per this thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/285037-Feature-Request-Filepicker-Ability-To-Change-Height-Parameter-Of-Images
But it is a very positive step for usability
Well done Ken ... just have a look at that little suggestion in the thread above ... I thinkit will make dynamite
- JotForm SupportMike_TAnswered on October 31, 2013 at 06:10 PM
It sounds great, but it might be not that easy to implement. We will need to think about how can this be integrated with our current filepicker integration, so we will consider your request.
- markashtonAnswered on November 01, 2013 at 03:21 PM
On another thread to do with orientation I reported a problem where suddenly all the images had lost their proper orientation -see end of this thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/243900-HTML-Grid-Reports-Thumbnail-Pop-up-Needs-To-Be-Correct-Orientation
Now, Ken fixed this in no time ... by adding exif=rotate to the convert command on the url.
The same has to be done in this case ... but applying ... height=750 ... will take a second ....
More info is on this thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/285037-Feature-Request-Filepicker-Ability-To-Change-Height-Parameter-Of-Images
I think it will take no more than 10 mins
- JotForm SupportMike_TAnswered on November 01, 2013 at 03:44 PM
Unfortunately, this might not work for users who need the original full size images. I think that your idea with custom options under filepicker integration is better, but will take much more time to implement.
- markashtonAnswered on November 02, 2013 at 09:52 AM
... No one needs the full image as I've explained above ... I bet you no one complains at all ... just like none of them are queuing up to have their say about it on this forum.
Take it from me ... probably the ultimate power user of Jotform ...
The truly brilliant grid report function that quickly loads thumbnails ... and now beautifully loads images in a lightbox ... is severely compromised by the load time of those images as it defaults to loading the full image and quite simply takes too long for people to bother.
Photos from smartphones are ridiculously overkill in size. What this means is that every lightbox is loading a 1.5Mb - 2.5Mb photo jpeg but displaying what could be displayed at around 400Kb
Most respectfully, I think your concern regarding users who need the original full size images is a non-issue for the majority of users.
I think the strategy of doing the convert height command fix at 750px will provide a great return-on-investment for the majority of users in the short-term ... and if there is a problem ... we can build the custom option in the filepicker integration as-and-when demanded for people to set their height requirements.
Also, and I believe this last point to be a clincher in my case for this 750px height fix ...
Any user can access all the full-size files directly from their filepicker account anyway ... so what's the problem ... everyone's happy ....

Hi mark, thanks for the inputs. What everything you said is correct. All your arguments are valid, you have a wide experience on that manner and so do I.
I'm working on it now, just to make you happy. So please be patient, you're not the only person here that needs help. Everyone needs help.
Also DO NOT post any other threads here I keep saying this from your other threads.
