    Hi

i Have created a holiday form for an employee to complete and sign this is then sent to the Manager depending on what department they work for ((Notification 1) First Email to Authorising Manager)

The manager than opens the form via the link in the email and completed and submit.  This should then send Notification 2 - Second Email to Human Resources for Authorisation, however i am receiving no email ?

    Please can you help.

The email is not being sent due to the option Send on Edit is disabled in the email settings.

Please enable this option for the emails that are required to be sent when the form submission is edited.

    Thank you!

Yes i understand this - however when i click this as "on" when HR then submit finally they again get the same email with the link in asking them to complete the form again when this is the end of the flow.  They do not want a notification to tell them its been edited again.

In this case, you may try adding a condition to send this email only if the approval or some other field post first submission is not filled. This way, the email shall be sent only on the first submission.

Please give it a try and let us know if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

i decided to re-do the form (see link below) however nope this still is not working.  I get a notification email for notification one when the department is chosen - this then send an email to the manager with a get URL link in it .

Open this and complete and sign as the manager and submit - this is then supposed to send notification 2 "payroll" but nothing is coming through even with the conditions set.

    Hi,

Have you seen our complete guide on how to create an Approval form? If not, please check this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/432-A-General-Approach-on-Building-an-Approval-Process-Workflow

After checking the guide, let us know what part you got stuck. Thank you.

i have done that and followed - i have the get page URL notification flows already set up - notification 1 has a get page URL link within it (please see) , and conditions sat behind it so if they choose a department the notification gets sent to the desired email address - send on edit for notification 1 is  disabled and the emails send fine.

Notification 1 is received with a URL link in , the manager then completes this part of the form and click submits - this should then prompt notification 2 to be sent out with a new URL link for payroll to complete.  However this is not sending.  I enabled send on edit - but this then send this notification out each time the form is edited which i do not want, however without this enabled it doesn't send at all.

I can not understand how notification 1 sends without send on edit enabled but notification 2 does not.  Please can you check my conditions and notifications to see where i am going wrong.

The flow has 4 notifications in total and a notification is only required to be sent to the nominated email address only after submission only.  I do not want notifications to be sent each time the forms is edited.  For example:

1 - Employee fills out form and clicks submit.  This then sends notification 1 with get page URL link to desired email addressed depending on which condition is met.

2 - Manager only receives notification - completes manager section and clicks submit - this then sends notification 2 only to payroll only with get page URL link in.

3 - Payroll completes payroll section and clicks submit - this then sends notifications 3&4 to employee and manager only to inform them the submission is complete and completed PDF atrached.

    4) - End of flow

However what is happening is notification 1 sends correctly with "edit on" disabled (this is what i want).

Notification 2 when notification 1 is completed does not send unless "edit on submission " is enabled.  When "edit on submission" is enabled, this sends out notification 2 every time the form is completed - which i do not want.

Why does notification 1 send correctly with "send on edit" disabled but notification 2 does not?

Greetings and thank you for your message.

I can see that you have set up custom edit URLs and that you are using conditional logic related to it (role=HR, role=manager), etc. You can use these in the Notification emails as well.

Your conditions currently check if the field Select department is filled, and send the email accordingly. Since this field will be filled even if the submission is edited, the email will be sent each time.

Please note that you can create multiple rules for one condition by clicking the plus sign on the left. For example:

    Thank you for your reply.

    I apologize for the confusion.

Can you please confirm, are you referring to the form Holiday Form - Hourly Paid? The form from the original ticket is no longer available.

Also, can you please let us know to what Notifications from the form you are referring to as Notification 1 and Notification 2? Is First Email to Authorising Manager Notification 1, and the Notification 2 Second Email to Payroll for On-Boarding?

Thank you for the additional information.
