Box.net: Enable a link of the uploaded file to appear on email confirmationAsked by ianatmb on July 11, 2013 at 04:53 PM
I'm integrated with Box.net for my larger uploads. Everything works exactly as I need it to, except that I'm unable to get the box.net link sent in the confirmation email. I can hard-code a link to the folder, but I'd prefer a link to the box.net directory, or better yet to the actual file. Is there a way to acheive this result?
Hi ianatmb, To be honest I'm not quite sure this would be possible since other then sending files I don't know of any such function in place to allow this ability. I think we would have to implement an improvement to allow this to happen so I would have to turn this over to our Developers as a Feature Request if you would like us to do so and look into seeing if this is a possible feature to add.
The closest I am seeing at the moment is Sharing it through Box itself but I don't think that is what you are actually looking for.
Kade - thanks for the quick reply. A feature request would be awesome. I have used FormStack in the past and they were able to include a link like:
in their confirmation email, which was great. I'm sure there's a way that I could create a zap through zapier to accomplish this, but I would prefer to be lazy :). Knowing that the box.net integration is quite new, I'm sure it will be developed further as more people start to use it. The previewing capabilities of Box.net are very useful. Hopefully this gives a bit more insight into the request...
I'll send your request to our feature request list, however our developers would implement it if there is a considerable number of people asking for it
