I would like to know if there is any safeguard or method that I can deply that would prevent a form getting cloned?
Not that I'm not ready to help other users ... just that if it takes weeks to get a solution for a client ... you don't want any old sole just cloning it ... for a number of obvious reasons.
Can you advise me on this please?

Unfortunately no, there is no way to opt-out a form from being cloned. We never thought it might be an issue. I opened a feature request ticket about it.

Thanks. I would be grateful for control over this ... perhaps the default being Form Clonable: Yes ... with the option of changing to No

Aytekin. Because I'm using Jotform for little bespoke web-apps ... that clients are paying for I need to prevent the cloning thing ... I've already had various forms cloned in the past by Jotform staff ... if you so recall.
No, many forms I'm happy to spread the love ... but I'm sfraid some are a total No No.
Can you advise me on whether this will happen.
PS I'll test the hell out the new interface and feedback ... so we get it best as can be.

Hi Mark, that's an interesting suggestion that was actually never thought of as our Founder has mentioned. It's purely understandable what you mean by all of this and I think that it is fair enough considering it'd be option on forms that you or someone else worked hard to produce. Our Staff only clones your forms to test it for issues so that we do not do anything to chance it and cause further problems on your forms. This is done only when you or others have problems with them. If we are unable to do so then we will request permission to work on your live form unless you've told us to do so beforehand. If any were shared without your permission please let us know and we will remove it.
As for the Ability to control this. First off thank you for what you have shared. Second, it's been added to our Feature Request List. I'm not quite sure when something like this might become available but perhaps the waiting time for it would decrease if others hop on board the idea of it. As soon as something is known in the works about this you'll be one of the first to know and thank you for being willing to test when ready. :)

Hopefully it will become available soon ... as I put in millions of hours creating little web-app solutions and currently any old Joey can copy them at a whim!
Is there an assumption that there is "No Intellectual Property" going on and that we can all have everyone's stuff whenever we want?
Where's this is in the queue then ?
- JotForm SupportjonathanAnswered on August 01, 2013 at 06:32 PM
A ticket was already created for this feature request. We will have to wait for updated response from our dev team when available.
"No Intellectual Property"
I can see this mentioned in the JotForm Terms https://www.jotform.com/terms/

Right ... I want some way of protecting my forms from others nicking it ... what have you got?
- KadeJMAnswered on August 28, 2013 at 10:04 AM
Hi Mark, thanks for checking up on this. The status of this as a feature request are still pending consideration but I believe this will probably be developed before long. We're already aware that you are pushing for this one along with several other suggestions and improvements to get done since a lot of these would greatly benefit everyone. We'll let you know as soon as we know something.
- markashtonAnswered on August 29, 2013 at 08:26 AM
Thanks for showing me the Copyright Infringement ...
So .. if I have a form nicked via your non-defensible current jotform system ... jotform would be effectively responsible via demostrable culpability ... i.e. you were fully aware that any, and every, form is clonable/ reproducible ... and yet put in no measures to prevent this from happening.
Do you think it would be wise to put this feature into effect ... I mean you wouldn't want to be sued by a hapless jotformer would you?
- KadeJMAnswered on August 29, 2013 at 09:56 AM
Mark, I'm certain this will be addressed as soon as our developers get to this issue once they are finished with other tickets ahead of it. In my honest opinion aside from being apart of the Support Team here I believe this will be taken care of via a feature as you've requested before long though I couldn't say when or how soon just yet since I still do not know of anything going on with this at the moment. Also, I agree that this is an important matter to be taken care of before long to avoid any lawsuits over something silly which can be fixed with a simple control feature to protect user creation rights over forms. We appreciate you pointing all this out to us furthermore.

Remember this ... where members of staff happily nicked my forms, cloned them, and stuck them in the template gallery:
Happy days eh?
How about executing this feature request. I mean if the post above does not demonstrate a requirement then nothing will ...
What says you?
- JotForm SupportWelvinAnswered on September 17, 2013 at 08:38 AM
I have noted your message to the ticket. Surely, Mr. Aytekin read your message. Thanks and have a good day!
- markashtonAnswered on October 13, 2013 at 12:39 PM
I don't want anyone cloning my forms again.
What are you doing about this?
Many thanks Mark
- jeanettebmzAnswered on October 13, 2013 at 02:25 PM
Let me send a note to Aytekin and the developers to get a status update on regards to this
- markashtonAnswered on April 15, 2014 at 06:03 AM
My instincts tell me s status update is not forthcoming.
Tell me ... is anybody arsed at Jotform about the intellectual property of its customers ... like me? Or is it that you think everyone is happy to share everything they do as a template or clonable?
There's a saying ...
"For evil to prevail all it takes is a for few good men to do nothing"
Catch the significance of this? Or is it too subtle?
- JotForm SupportWelvinAnswered on April 15, 2014 at 07:47 AM
I'm not sure of the actual release date, but we've already implemented this feature. You can now prevent anybody from cloning your form. Simply enable the settings by going to your My Account - Settings page:
Thank you and our apologize for not updating you right away.
- JotForm SupportWelvinAnswered on April 15, 2014 at 08:04 AM
Let me also add that this applies to all forms you have. There is currently no settings like this for individual forms.
