    I have 2 'named' date fields - 'arrival' & 'departure'.In my mails I want to clearly indicate what days are selected, using this format: 'monday 1 January 2012' (to avoid any misunderstanding: mmdd vs ddmm).How do I format those dates in the notification? I tried: - date(arrival, l j F Y) - {arrival: l j F Y}Both don't work....

    Hi BMGH

Even though including {DATE:l, jS \of F Y \a\t g:i A} somewhere within the email notification composition will output the date and time of the submission (for example, Friday, 6th of May 2011 at 9:41 PM), to my knowledge, it is not currently possible to manipulate date fields in the manner you have described.

Nevertheless, it's a good idea and will be put to our developers for consideration. However, I can't tell you if or when such a feature will be implemented.

For the time being, you can substitute Birthdate Picker ("Quick Tools" menu) fields for the DateTime fields presently in your form. The format is closer to what you want.

Thanks for asking and please feel free to ask additional questions on this and other issues relating to our forms.

Thank you abajan for your fast reply. Will try that birthday picker, but weirdly enough the toolbars do not display in FF 4.01 - will use another browser....

For all the years that I use Jotform now (http://www.barbertonmanor.com/bookings.html) (kudos for that!), I added datepickers from www.zapatec.com - they can be nested and configured much better but unfortunately Zapatec seems vanished.

It's too bad Jotform still doesn't provide some 'date-module' that links 2 dates: arrival & departure: arrival can only be today and later - departure at least the arrival date + 1, no dates in the past etc.

Apparently jQuery can not be intergrated either, so no improved datepicker.... I really hope this gets a high(er) priority, as it seems a frequently requested feature.

Just contact me for further input as I have some more thoughts on this.

Interestingly enough, on the "Submissions" page, the format of the DateTime field is actually quite close to how you want it in the email notification:

Actually, the birthday picker date is better as well - it is just not used/usable in the emails. Basically it is about formatting - shouldn't be too hard to add it to any date-field - or, within the emails themselves? Add a dropdown list with formats, to be applied to each date-field - I would prefer to be able to format the date within the online form, but it being confirmed in the email(s) is more relevant (wehen it comes to enquiries and people planning their trip).

As said, feel free to contact me anytime - will be pleased to assist.

This thread is actually quite old and we have made many updates since it was created.  If you wouldn't mind creating a new thread and let us know a bit more detail about what you would like, we will be happy to help with whatever we can.
