I would like to know if I can customize/pre-fill some of the form fields before sending the form via email to certain people?

Asked by fclariana on July 22, 2013 at 02:09 PM

What is it neecssary to have some text fields already pre-filled and the lock it so people cannot change it. For example, we need to send a form that I've just made with your service, to about 100 people. They need to fill it and send back to us. We would like to have the name of the person, and a couple of additional information pre-filled and locked so they cannot change. Is it possible to do this?  We would probably need to send the form via email, instead of sending the link to the webpage for then to fill.

    Please advice.

    Thank you,

    Fernanda

Hi Fernanda, you can actually do something similar using a recently added feature that allows you to set certain fields to " Read Only ". This is basically handy for things of this sort and pre-population to halt unwanted edits.

    Example: http://form.jotform.co/form/32025514315846

You will note that you cannot edit the Author's Name but you can edit where it says Enter your Name. You can enable it by going to Properties  >  Read Only  >  Change NO to " YES ".

My Fault, I fogot to additonally speak about the Email Part. You can also email the form to those that you want to fill in the form under the Setup & Embed Options but this only sends a link to the form. I don't think or know of a way to do this but if myself or one of my colleagues is able to figure this out we will let you know.
