Using autoresponder to send email asking for new contact to fill out a jotform

Asked by orbs on July 22, 2013 at 03:54 PM

I am using jotform to collect applications from students for an academic program.

The main form lets the applicant provide data for two people who will submit letters of recommendation.

    http://www.jotform.com//?formID=21228615041948

I was using two autoresponders to send an email to those two people and contain in that email, a link to a second personalized jotform that they could use to submit their letter file.  that second jotform is:

    http://www.jotform.com/?formID=21244842219955

I had this working (and you will see the 2 autoresponder entries in the MAIN FORM, but I accidentally deleted the URL link that had been associated with the "CLICK HERE" text in the autoresponder content. All I have is one specific example from one submitted form, not the general code I need to have in the form itself.

    That code is:

    https://secure.jotformpro.com/form/21244842219955?email4%3Drandy.nelson%40osumc.edu%26recommendersName%5Bfirst%5D%3DRandy%26recommendersName%5Blast%5D%3DNelson%26thisRecommendation%5Bfirst%5D%3DOlga%26thisRecommendation%5Blast%5D%3DMel%C3%83%C2%A9ndez-Fern%C3%83%C2%A1ndez&k=ux7ohqYFcw1oDo0gOpSLlw%3D%3D%0A&r=R%2F%2FNrCXUxbSeGH7mHz4IV6EsGsNwx%2FhPb2OaF2MyXUE%3D%0A&m=%2FVKXaaMPdO5ih9ROAJ6EfrQXbBXoqk7unNKeIKew68g%3D%0A&s=ec78b07c425a1b0d05ac84560e09488b0a4c98155f5540d653e8f5801ecef8fb

If there is a backup version of my MAIN FORM from early today or yesterday, I could work with that or if you can help me remember the way to construct the URL, I'd be grateful.  I created these forms over a year ago and just cannot recall what I did - my failure to document.

    Thanks, Jon Gottesman

    Hi Jon,

Unfortunately, if the form was saved already with the latest changes, that version will be the version that you can restore. There is no capability to restore the form on a particular saved point, unless it was saved with a different name (it will not override the previous form version).

I am trying to understand what is the CLICK HERE text link was supposedly.

From what I got so far, it seems you are using the method describe on this guide

    How-to-Save-Forms-to-Continue-Later

and the URL parameter pre-fill guide Prepopulating-fields-to-your-JotForm-via-URL-parameters

Test this URL link CLICK HERE

This is the content of that link

    https://secure.jotformpro.com/form/21244842219955?email4=Drandy.nelson@sumc.edu&recommendersName[first]=Jonathan&recommendersName[last]=Jotform&thisRecommendation[first]=Jonathan&thisRecommendation[last]=Jotform

    ---

You can still rebuild the CLICK HERE link using the guide I mentioned.

Hope this help. Please inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.

I'll see if I can resurrect the code I was using.

I am sorry, but I do not see the way to save a form under a different name - I can't find a "Save As" option or a "copy form" menu item. There isn't anything that comes up in the User Guide using a search for Save As or Copy.  If you can point me to that I'd appreciate it.

Having incremental change logs or at least levels of undo as is available in Google Forms would certainly be a useful feature in my opinion.

    Thanks

    Hi,

To save a different version of the form, you call it cloned instead.

Please check this guide how to clone Form-Cloning

Having incremental change logs or at least levels of undo as is available in Google Forms would certainly be a useful feature in my opinion.

You can actually do this in the form builder. There is an Undo option (beside the save, preview buttons on top).

BUT you cannot undo once you have closed the current form you are designing/editing at the time.

Inform us if you have further inquiry.

    Thanks.

    Jonathan,

Thanks for pointing out cloning - awkward way to make copies and having no ability to rename files (with a version # for example) is not optimal, but I am very glad to have this available.
