Base Condition On Coupon Code ValueAsked by sarbel on July 23, 2013 at 07:50 AM
is it possible to based a condition on coupon code value when paying thru paypal?
I want to send notification to a business issueing the coupon every time an order is made using that coupon.
we have several coupons so different notifications need to be made.
Unfortunately, you cannot do this on the coupon code in the form builder. The coupon codes is not available in the conditions fields during design.
The workaround I could come up is, to use another separate textbox to get the user's provided coupon code.
The textbox value should match an existing coupon code (in the paypal field). Basically, the user needs to input the coupon code at least 2 times.
You can use the textbox coupon code in the condition notificationt email.
I did a test form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/32033993005953
You can use CC1 or CC2 as the sample coupon codes.
The condition I setup is like this
If you test the form using your email, you can received the autoresponder email message base on the coupon code you provided.
Hope this help. Please inform us if you need assistance.
Thanks for the workaround but this doesn’t answer our needs. What if the additional coupon code I put in the form will be left empty?
We still need to show products and sell them to customers who don’t have any coupons
You can just use the Email Conditional Logic. So basically, your customers would need to enter the Coupon Codes twice. First for the Custom Text Box for Conditional Logic and Second is for the Coupon Codes box in the Payment Field. I would also suggest making the Custom Text Box as required so they cannot bypass that so the conditional logic will be triggered always after submission.
To avoid confusion of the two boxes, you can add a few line explaining the use of the first custom box. Example: "Provide the Coupon Codes here and Confirm to the Payment Area"
thanks for the workarounds but this doesnt solve my needs.
this is not how affiliate system shoudl be working. customers need to be able to buy a product even without a coupon code so this field cannot be mandatory.
the most effective solution is to inlcude the coupon payapl field to the list of fields supported in conditions engine and by that notify specific emails on specific coupons.
can you pleae raise this as a development request?
Please create a seperate thread containing the full details of your request so we can forward your request to our developers for consideration.
