Dropbox Integration: Ability to re-name the PDF files based in a combination of form questions

Asked by cr3250 on July 25, 2013 at 04:05 PM

I am not interested in changing the name of Folders, just the Files.   Currently the default is the submission ID, I would like the File Name to be a combination of the three fields.  Client Full Name, Date & time.

IE:  I can look in my dropbox folder I wouild see the following:

    Jane Doe,07252013,1500.pdf

    Instead of:

Hi!, this can be done by configuring the "Dropbox Integration" at the submissions page.

Note that this change will create an individual folder with the field name you choose for each submission but you can't change the pdf file name. Take a look at this image example:

    Hope it helps!

What guilledutra has adviced to you is mainly for folders naming.  You can name the folder based in any question in the form

However, having the ability to make the dropbox integration to re-name files is something we do not have as for the moment

If we  see an increasing number of people asking for the same feature, our developers might consider to implement it

Thank you for your response.   The ability to make the dropbox integration to be able to re-name the files will most likely be one of the long term features which I will look at when I determine wheter on I stick with Jotform.

If over the long term, I am unable to sort, and file an electronic copy of the form, will make a difference as to wheter I decide to keep it, or to use another form of digital documentation (in a year or two, not today).

Also, the ability to customize the PDF file that is created will be another critical feature which may make a significant difference to deciding if we keep jotform in another year or two.

Keep in mind that I am using Jotform for my employees to be able to write logs in the field on their phone or other device.  I may not be the target audience for your service.  :)   Thanks you have been terrific.

    Hello ameyhegde,

Unfortunately, this feature is not yet released. Upon checking the ticket status, I found that it is marked as important and hopefully it will be released soon.

    Thank you!
