should my clone forms update changes when i make changes on the original formAsked by dclempa on July 30, 2013 at 07:39 PM
should my clone forms update changes when i make changes on the original form
It does not apply changes on the clone forms when you change the original form.
Kindly let us know if you have further questions or inquiry.
Thank you for using JotForm.
So I have just delete the clone and make another one? I was just wondering the best way to do it.
Please describe to us what it is exactly you wanted to achieve and we will assist you the best way we can to achieve the requirement.
Just to explain a bit on the cloned form, the original form and its cloned version are 2 different forms. This is easily understand because they have 2 different unique form ID#. Editing/Updating the other form will not affect the other. Including submissions data are separate.
In case what you are trying to achieve is embed or deploy the form to different websites... you can do this using a single form only. Just embed the form to the different pages on different websites and the submissions data will all be condensed to that same form when you go to your My Forms Submissions page.
Hope this help. Feel free to contact us again anytime for any other inquiry.
I was trying to always keep backups that were current with the changes. So if I make a change on a form then I wanted to back that
up with the change. I thought that maybe the cloned backups would update itself automatically. So I guess I have to delete the cloned
backup when I make changes and clone the form again as a backup with the new changes?
Thanks for all your help. I am new at using your software but I am learning.
You are welcome.
As my colleague has mentiond, that the original and cloned forms are two differnt forms. Updating one will not automatically update the cloned version.
