Product Field: How to make one of the product mandatory and other products optional

Asked by call4angel on July 31, 2013 at 06:36 PM

    Hello,

I have added 3 products to my form.

The first product is required and must be purchased before either of the other 2 can be chosen or purchased.

Only 1 (one) of other 2 products can be added to the first product.

    How do I create the form so that 1 & 2 OR 1 & 3 can be purchased but 1, 2 & 3 can't be purchase?

I have tried conditions and adding options to the products but I am still unable to achieve the avove.

    Please help - Thanks!

    Hi Angela,

First, I would like to suggest that you review this guide How-To-Add-Options-In-The-Payment-Form

In section III this was explained:

    -------------------------------------------------

III. Add Mandatory Payment and Default Product
Each item/product in the payment field can be mandatory and/or be selected by default.
Required property make the item/product mandatory and always selected by default.
Selected by default only makes the item/product optional and can deselected anytime.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    So to achieve this

    How do I created the form so that 1 & 2 OR 1 & 3 can be purchased but 1, 2 & 3 can't be purchase?

You must make one(1) product as the selected product.
AND make sure that the payment field is set to required. Setting the payment field required will prevent the user from not selecting any product at all.

Hope this help. Inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.

Is it possible to get rid of the price inserted when entering the product details?

'Just so that there is no confusion as to the actual price....

    Hi Angela,

I am not quite sure I fully understand your latest question.

Did you meant hide the price of the product/item? How would the user then knows how much the item would be?

On your next reponse please create a separate thread since we will now be discussing a different topic. Kindly use this link to do it https://www.jotform.com/contact

Provide as much details as you can, and we will attend to your new post at once.

    Thanks.

Well, I think we're still on the same subject. We're talking about customizing the payment form.

I created a custom payment form with 2 products under 1 product description. When I was creating the product (before I added, the customized products) I had to enter the product amount (in mine I entered 1295).

Now the product itself is not 1295 as it is only a "title" for the products with a price - please see attached.

It is possible that I created it improperly. Please let me know if this is the case.

I would like to remove the circled amount on the attached off the form - is this possible?

    Thanks

    Angela

    @call4angel

I am sorry but I am not able to see the screenshot you have sent. Please refer this thread on how to add images in forum post: http://www.jotform.com/answers/31636-How-to-insert-embed-a-screen-shot-a-k-a-screen-dump-into-a-post

I have still not understood why do you want to remove the product price. Every item you add in your payment tool is considered as a product. Looks like you want to create a package which included multiple product. Is that correct?

We will wait for your response.

    Thanks,

    Sidharth
