Adding Table Cell to Notification Subject Line

    Hello,

I'm making a notification which needs a form entry in the subject.

I know how to do this with normal form entries, but I need to add a specific cell from a table.

When I try to add the table and cell, JotForm is adding the entire table to the subject line.

    Repro

    (1) Go to Notification 1 in linked form.

    (2) Subject: Table Subject Test {testTable[0][3]}

    Any thoughts?

    Regards,

    LD Miller

Hi, you can try using a Form Calculation widget to capture the value from a specific cell:

    Example:

So, you can put that in the subject line. Please note that you can hide it from the form: https://www.jotform.com/help/434-How-to-Hide-Form-Fields

    Thanks BDavid,

Your solution worked great, but I have a followup question:

Form Calculations widgets will load fast right?

I had an issue on another thread where I used a Fancy Checkbox widgets which loaded much slower than the other form components.

Form Calculations widgets will load fast right?

Yes. It should load fast or instantly. I suggest doing a follow up on this ticket (https://www.jotform.com/answers/2475242-Checkbox-Widget-Load-Error

To answer your question, it might load instantly depending on the internet speed or server.

I checked the form and I suggest using the normal Multiple choice field instead of the Checkbox widget. We can provide a custom CSS code to make it look like the Checkbox widget by increasing the size.

    Thanks VincentJay,

We are planning on releasing a new version of our form to use a normal multiple choice.

Unfortunately, we cannot upgrade the existing version with 1000+ entries across two versions - since deleting those fancy checkbox widgets also seems to delete the backend data entries.

As for Form Calculation widgets, just wanted to make sure we didn't go down the same bumpy road. =)

    Thank you for updating us.

You're correct, deleting the checkbox widgets will remove the data associated with it.
