Ability to update the submission date everytime a submission gets edited

    Hi JotForm Support,

I try to let my users update their Form Submissions at a later date according to this link https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date. However, my problem is I want the Submission Date of their edited forms on the latest date, not the first date they submit.

Could you please tell me how to make the Submission Date showing the latest date instead of the first date?

    Thanks in advance!

For more information, in the red box is what I mentioned. The first date on submission is Aug 11, but the latest date is Aug 19.

Unfortunately, the submission date column keeps the date when the form was originally submitted. So when you edit the submission, the date retains and cannot be changed.

I will raise a feature request to our developers to see if the submission date can be updated when the submission is edited or if the new column can be added to the submission page that will capture the date of the last edit. However, please note that we can not provide you the exact time when and this will be implemented.

For now, I can only suggest you add a date field to your form and disable the past and future dates. Set the field as REQUIRED. In this case, when the submission is edited there will be an error message shown inside of the field and the user that is editing the submission will have to select the current date.

How to Use the Date Limits Option

Thank you so much for your suggestion! For now, I will use the way that you have already suggested.

By the way, it will be great if your team can develop the column that will capture the date of the last edit like you mentioned. I am looking forward for that one in the future! ;)

    Thanks a lot!

This ticket has been forwarded to our backend team for evaluation. Please keep in mind that there's no assurance whether this will be implemented. It will highly depend on the viability of the feature, the number of similar requests we get, along with the workload of our Developers.

We can't give you any timeframe but we'll keep you apprised on this same support ticket when there's an update :)
