    Hi,

And further... can you do that multiple times on the same page with different sections (so a total for each section) that would be visible to a respondent?

    Thanks, Doug

I'm not sure I understand your question, but are you referring to adding a value into the responses? If so, please check this guide https://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value and see if this is what you are trying to do.

can you do that multiple times on the same page with different sections — If it's the calculation value you are referring to, then yes it can be added. If not, please clarify and provide us your requirement so we can give you a viable solution.

    Looking forward for your response.

    Jed,

Thanks for the response. will be using statements that the respondents can select from values 1-5 (and in another case 1-3). There will be 5 statements per section. Then I would like the responses for the 5 statements to be added up and shown to the respondent in a summary report.

One summary report for all 4 sections of 5 statements with total for each section.

I seems like the link was just about assigning values to responses.

Can jot form do what I'm requesting? If so, how?

    Thanks,

    Doug

Yes is it possible to achieve your requirement by adding calculation values in your (single choice / multiple choice / dropdown) questions. You can add "Form Calculation" widget to calculate the selected value of all questions. The following guide should help you:

    Assign calculation values: https://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value

    Perform calculation: https://www.jotform.com/help/259-How-to-Perform-Form-Calculation-Using-a-Widget

Please take a look at the following demo form I created for you and see if this is something similar to what you want to achieve: https://form.jotform.com/202325552227044

Feel free to clone this form for a closer look. The following guide should help you in form cloning: https://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

    Hope this helps.

    Ashwin that is so helpful!

A couple more confirmations and questions:

     -

There results can be automatically emailed to the respondent and us as owners upon hitting submit button?

     - Can we relocate the totals within the sections?

    - Can we total specific questions (this would be another form), like question 1,25 & 46 for example and have that total show up to the right... so the questions would be in columns with 1, 25, and 46 as the first row in each column. Further, could we label the totals by a letter of our choosing?

Thanks for all the incredible help!

    Doug

    - Can we relocate the totals within the sections?

If you're referring to moving the form field to a different page or section, you can do that without any issue by dragging the form fields to the section you want. If I misunderstood your question, please provide more details so we can assist you properly.

Yes, you can do this by adding multiple Form Calculation widgets. I recommend trying it and let us know if you need further help or have any questions.

Also, please provide a screenshot where you want to put the total. Also, please provide the form you're working on so we can check it further.

To avoid confusion, I moved the other question to a new ticket: https://www.jotform.com/answers/2526637

    Thank you.
