Ability to force upper/lower case letters on fields.

I create a hidden field that receives the values of multiple fields copied into it per the if statement below.  The idea is that, field "SingleEntry" should have unique user info - and duplicates should be rejected by the Unique Question validation in forms settings.  It is not working so I am doing something wrong - help !  I can see in the submissions window that I have duplicate entries.

I would be happier with a calculation (copying of values to field SingleEntry) that is done when the user hits the "submit" button, but right after each field validation had been checked - that way required fields would be filled (or triggered an error) before field SingleEntry recieves data - so sure to contain proper info. Lastly get "tested" against the Unique Question form requirement. Is this possible ?

I have checked your form and the way you've set up the unique question field properly, I have searched on your submissions page, but could not find duplicated entries; however, note that the validation will not trigger if the entered data is not exactly the same, a single space after a string will cause a difference allowing the submission.

You may provide us the submission IDs of the duplicated ones, so we can check if the above mentioned happened, please check this guide that will help you to get the submission IDs: https://www.jotform.com/help/549-Where-to-Find-the-Submission-ID

We will wait for your response.

Seems to be working now !

Totally agree with single character change and duplicate will slip by.
Is there a way to Capitalize 1st letter in some fields ?  Or to convert field data to upper or lower case ?  I can see my unique validation failing is a person writes Daniel versus daniel on the form.  Forcing the SingleEntry filed to be all lower case or all upper case would solve that.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to force the upper case letters, we may however open a feature request for this, although we cannot provide an ETA, we would keep you updated via this ticket.

Yes, please open a feature request to control upper, lower and capitalize 1st letter (sometimes called "proper" I think).
It could be part of the math functions available in the update calculated field condition - as long as we can put the value back I to its own field.
