    Form is filling up screen on mobile phones -- CANNOT access website

    Asked by kungo on August 06, 2013 at 11:04 AM

    Hello,

    My client's JotForm (lightbox) is filling up the screen on mobile phones, so that no one can
    click out of it and access his website:

    http://aenys.com/test.htm   Please view it on a mobile phone, or emulator.

    I have inserted the CSS code suggested by your techs -- but it is still not working. Perhaps
    I did it wrong?

    I must get this fixed immediately. Any help would be very appreciated!!!

    Hello - I have used both Android and iPhone. Are you saying that you can click out of the form, and access the website, when going to this URL on your smartphone?

    It cannot be clicked-out of. There is no way to get to the website underneath.

    Hi,

    This can be corrected by fixing the width of your form. Please change the current width of the form to 320px for portrait view 480px for landscape view. For more information on how to change the width please review this guide, http://www.jotform.com/help/35-The-Importance-of-Form-Widths. Please let us know if changing the width still did not fix this problem.

    Thanks!

    No, it does not work. Here is a screen shot of it at 320px wide:

    I have tried many times to resize. Nothing works.

    Please advise. I have a business meeting within hours where
    I'll have to show this website on a mobile.

    Hi,

    This is happening because there is an autopop-up  form in your website http://aenys.com/test.htm

    I checked the page source view, and I can see this codes

    <script src="//cdn.jotfor.ms/static/feedback2.js?3.1.1264" type="text/javascript">

    new JotformFeedback({

    formId:'32098489732971',

    base:'http://jotformpro.com/',

    windowTitle:'Inquiry from Men\'s Hair Replacement Page',

    background:'#000000',

    fontColor:'#AB2956',

    type:1,

    height:500,

    width:320,

    openOnLoad:true

    });

    </script>

    Are you saying that you do not want the autopop-up form to happen?

    You can remove the red highlighted code above in your web page, and I think that should prevent the form from auto loading.

    Hope this help. Please inform us if this is not the answer you were looking for.

    Thanks.

    Thank you for your reply  jonathan.

    Yes, I do want it to autopop-up.

    The auto pop-up lightbox form (not JotForm) on this other website resizes correctly...

    Please let me know how I can make my JotForm do the same as this (please view link
    on smartphone):

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Please try adding the appropriate DOCTYPE declaration on the top your page.

    Try if the declaration like this

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">

    or similar to the one use in  http://syracuselaserspa.com/

    Please try if this make any difference. Update us of the results.

    --

    I will try to create a test page also using your website source and add the DOCTYPE to be able to test on my end.

    I will update you on my result.

    Thanks.

    Neither of the DOCTYPE's made a difference on my end. Did it work for you?

    Thanks for looking into this jonathan.

    @kungo

    Try to add the following script on top of the lightbox script.

    <style>

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 550px){

    .jt-content{

    width:270px !important;

    overflow-x:hidden;

    }

    .jt-feedback{top:60% !important;}

    }

    </style>

    This might help.

    Base on the iPhone Simulator result: top part of the form is now viewable.

    I hope this helps. Let us know the result on your side after this changes. Thanks!

    There is no difference for me, after adding code.
    I have found this simulator to be fairly accurate: http://iphone4simulator.com/

    ...and here is a screenshot from there (I also cleared cache before trying again):

    I appreciate all you guys are doing... are there any more possibilities?

    @kungo

    We uses BrowserStack, I think this is completely different from the one you are using. Browserstack uses actual iOS, so the iPhone Browser runs in an iOS which produces a different display from the one you've provided here. As far as I see, http://iphone4simulator.com/ runs in a normal browser therefore it is not rendered in an iOS, it's just the same as the desktop view. If you an actual iPhone kindly check it there, it should render the actual result.

    --

    By the way, I have updated the script.

    Kindly replace the previous script to this to make the form scrollable instead of fixed display.

    <style>

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 550px){

    .jt-content{

    width:270px !important;

    overflow-x:hidden;

    }

    .jt-feedback{

    position: absolute !important;

    left: 50% !important;

    top: 285px !important;

    }

    }

    </style>

    Hope this helps. Thanks!
