I need Clarification about the InkFilepicker API Version that is Integrated with Jotform

Asked by markashton on August 07, 2013 at 05:21 AM

    Hi,

I have been testing Jotform Filepicker integration as much as I can ...

Sometimes an Iphone will inexplicably refuse to upload with the Filepicker function via Jotform and thus I have been discussing with the Filepicker CEO Brett van Zuiden to nail this problem.

Through our conversation yesterday he advised me ...

"Ah you're using the jotform integration of filepicker yes? They have an outstanding issue on their side that they are using a deprecated version of the api that doesn't behave properly in mobile contexts. Their customers have been lobbying them for a while to upgrade, to no avail."

My reply to him was ...

"Brett, I'm the one that has been lobbying them to upgrade. They have upgraded recently. I have been involved in this upgrade helping with the integration. They are now on the latest version of the API. So that's not the issue."

Then I got to thinking ... mmm .... so, before I test this stuff anymore and tell him his product/service doesn't work .... can you just advise me of the api version of filepicker that jotform has integrated
@Ken was doing the jotform integration ... woul;d you be kind enough to ask him please.
    Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, First thank you for the testing you've done to help us greatly improve this integration. Second, thank you again for the detailed information. I started looking into our source code with FilePicker and I decided that I'm not too certain about our actual InkFilePicker API Version that is being used. I don't want to give you the wrong information about it either. So because of that I've gone ahead and passed along your newly provided information to Ken who was working on this Integration. He or one of our other Developers will respond to this as soon as they have time or if I hear and figure this out sooner then I will get back to you asap about it.

    Thanks Kade,

If you could clarify that I would be grateful ... there is an iOS problem ... and this issue of what API is being used needs to be diagnostically removed as a cause ... then I can proceed and nail the problem with filepicker.

Thanks, please come back to me.

Meantime I'll check that script version with them

    Regards Mark

Hi, filepicker API has only two versions as far as I know.

v0 - the deprecated version and they removing it this november
v1 - the latest one, which JotForm is using as well

Users that has a filepicker integration on their form don't need to reintegrate it to get the latest update, as it will automatically catch up with the latest version.

    Thanks,
    Kenneth

    Hi ken ...

So ... are we using a mix of APIs then or have we superceded v0 and are now exclusively using v1 ?

    Put simply ...

"We are using v1 only and the Jotform integration with filepicker is up-to-date in terms of API"

    Is this statement correct?

Sorry just need to be clear ... one could interpret your words in more than one way that's all .. I just want to be correct.

    Thanks Markj
