Using Square as portal: Missed Preauth window. Links still visible, wondering how best to proceed.

Our form uses Square Reader as the payment portal, and also has pre-authorization enabled. We missed the 6 day window which Square allows for approval of roughly 10 transactions. The "Charge Customer Now" links are still visible in the backend of Jotforms, but they fail to charge the customer when clicked.

    1. Will the "Charge Customer Now" links eventually vanish?
    2. If the 6 day window had passed, does that mean that pre-authorization has been lifted? Should our customers still see a "hold" on their cards?
    3. Is there a way to delete the expired entries from the backend of our jotform? And if so, when would it be safe for us to do so?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

.. but I wondered if one should also message you. If not, my apologies.

    Thank you for contacting us.

    1. Will the "Charge Customer Now" links eventually vanish?

No, we do not remove the "Charge Customer Now" links even on expired entries.

    2. If the 6 day window had passed, does that mean that pre-authorization has been lifted? Should our customers still see a "hold" on their cards?

After the time period expires, Square cancels the payment. However, as far as I understand, the "hold" period on the user's card may last longer depending on their bank (card issuer).

    3. Is there a way to delete the expired entries from the backend of our jotform? And if so, when would it be safe for us to do so?

This is possible to delete submission records via the Submissions page, please see:

Note that deleted entries via the Submissions page cannot be restored.
