The search tool will only be able to look for items inside the payment field or inside the form even if it is embedded on a website. So you would need to add the items on the product list inside the payment field, to let your users search for the items.

You might also find the NEW Product List Field useful, please refer to this article: https://www.jotform.com/blog/introducing-product-list-form-field/. This field have also the search tool feature and it has also the ability to create categories for your products: -How-to-Add-Product-Categories-to-Payment-Fields, however, this will only be applicable to the products inside the field as well.
