How can i block form spammers?

Asked by coastsideservices on August 21, 2013 at 12:43 PM

I am not concerned with bots, as the captcha widget handles most of those. I'm more interested in blocking the annoying humans who use my form to submit industry related ads to my business. I would like to be able to block their ip or somehow block html coding in the form

    Hi,

Good day! You can check the IP Address of the submitter by following the steps:

    1. By adding the {ip} tag to your form notification settings:

    2. By going to your Form Submissions page:

Let us know after that so we can block them from our end. There is currently no way you can block IP Address.

OR, you can use these methods:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/64-How-to-Set-Unique-Submissions-on-a-Form

    https://www.jotform.com/help/223-How-to-set-Form-Limits-Based-on-a-Unique-Question

OR, use a trick such as to HIDE the submit button once an HTML tag "html" contains the Message area. Example form: http://form.jotform.co/form/31914589740866? (place the word "html" in the message area, you'll see the submit button is automatically hidden). The Conditional Logic below screenshot:

You can add more "Rules". Just click "Add New Rule" button.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Thanks
