Conditional Logic Not working using IE9 - embedded to Squarespace 6

Asked by elitetowncars on August 23, 2013 at 03:26 AM

Hello,  Forms are not rendering correctly on Squarespace Version 6 sites.  ie:  http://elitetowncars.com.au/booking/

Forms are not utilising the "If this then that" conditions for Internet Explorer (They never have for the years I have been using the service).  It just exposes all of the hidden options.  Firefox, Chrome and Safari all work perfectly.

I used IE8 to test your form. Could you please tell us which version are you utilizing so that we can further investigate?

Hi,  IE9 is the latest isn't it?   Why would you be testing with IE8?

    I have 9.0.8112.16421

    Hi Jason,

Good day! The form logic works for me. We have the same version. That is probably a compatibility issue which is somehow a common problem with Internet Explorer. Please follow the below steps to resolve that:

    1. When viewing your page,  Press F12 to open the Developers Console.

    2. Find and Choose the Latest Version of IE in Browser Mode

    3. Find and Choose the Latest Version of IE in Document Mode:

Is there any way you can edit your web header? If yes, you can force IE9 compatibility by adding Meta Data for IE Compatibility. This Tag:

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" />

Add this within your <head> </head> tags:

I also suggest re-embedding your form using our iframe method: How to Get Form iFrame Codes. The form don't work during the first initial loading of your website, this is most likely a script conflict. Having the iframe codes should resolve this conflict and would help you resolve the problem with IE9.

    Thanks

IE9 is the latest version for Windows 7. However, it's not the latest version of this browser. So far version 10 is the current release and it comes on Windows 8

At any rate, in addition to what Welvin has adviced to you, I think your webpage is showing a wrong DOCTYPE  declaration. Please try to update it to this one:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Hi, Every single client for the past 2 years plus that has used IE has had
this issue. I get comments of "Your form does not make sense", I ask them
what browser they use, it is IE without fail.
Surely I do not have to ask customers to adjust their browser settings just
    to use my webform?

I tried iFrame and customers in business were having problems with their
corporate security software blocking the form.

Have added the new iframe code to the site and have also added
form 11503939367 on my quote site with the new iframe code.

Can you send us a screen capture of the how the form is being displayed? I viewed the links that you provided in IE7, 8 9 and 10 and was unable to see an issue with the form. You can use this link to upload an image and share it here with us.

Please also try clearing your browser cache and viewing the web page again.

    Thanks!

I just added the code using iframe and it appears to be working on IE10 AND firefox, but now it has the logic problem on IE for WP8 (it worked fine before). I will continue testing, including on other mobile devises.
