    this is my old spreadsheet:

note - its first top row is not moving.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkhiwRfM5WyZdDhpbjhSaTNLdGo2Z1YwVjlxTEFSd1E#gid=

    this is my new spreadsheet:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkhiwRfM5WyZdGRtUzZsQ2ctVHlPcjA1WjBjMWVlekE#gid=0

i watched in disbelief when i received an enquiry over my homepage and the top column headings were written over by the incoming data (column colored in green).

this has happened with previous intergrations... but this time i saw happen LIVE.

so i have no doubt that there are bugs which jotform needs to work on in regards to google spreadsheet.

also - why is my top row not static anymore like in the old intergrations? the screenshot shows the old one, where you can scroll up and down and row 1 with the variable names are always visible.

i ve shared both old and new version with  jotformsupport@gmail.com so you can have a look inside.

    thankyou

    Hi,

That was before but due to some issues we encountered with Google we have to adjust something from our end in order to deal with the Google API.

You can actually freeze first row in your spreadsheet after the integration. It's pretty easy, here's how:

Regarding on the updates, new submissions sets in under the last existing submission. This is how it works even before. The updates is almost instant as usual. If you find any problems or if I've missed something on your question, let us know here.

    Thanks!

    hi

thanks for tip of freezing rows... works fine now.

but the incoming new data is still writing over the headings... usually if you change die variable names in the spreadsheet's 1st row, the form stops working.

what can i do about this?

    see my new spreadsheet:

    Hi,

a good way to avoid editing of the submission direct at the original sheet, you can add a new sheet to the submission spreadsheet, then by using Spreadsheet formulas you can fetch the original data from "sheet1" to "sheet2". You can use your own header variables names and leave untouched the original sheet where the submissions are populated.

Please check this exampel I made for you:

    Hope it helps
