PayPal or setup issue?Asked by childrenshealing on September 03, 2013 at 05:24 PM
I created a form with a paypal option for donations:
When the donor got to the PayPal site, the site did not allow for a donation by any method other than a PayPal account. I tried several times with different donors.
So I copied an event registration form that has been used succesfully in the past and modified it to use as the donation form:
This one works just fine.
What is the difference between the 2 forms in regards to PayPal? Is there something I need to do to set it up beyond the instructions in the wizard?
p.s. I am not a computer programmer... just a therapist who is somewhat skilled at problem-solving and utilizing user-friendly platforms to manage the web/tech needs of a very small nonprofit.
Hello, I have checked both forms, yet both take me to the Paypal website to sign in to be able to donate.
Now, this may be due to the type of PayPal Tool you may have used in the past. As the standard PayPal Tool will direct the user to payment wizard, were you will be asked to login.
On the other hand the PayPal Pro system will allow the user to type in his billing informaton without the need to be directed through a PayPal website also without the need to log in to a PayPal account.

Thank you for taking a look at this.
What was happening was that on the form I created using standard PayPal, when the donor got to the PayPal site to donate, the only way to do it was through a PayPal account – it wouldn’t allow the alternate option of pay by credit card. The only options were log in or create an account.
The form I copied, on the other hand, also directed the donor to PayPal, but in addition to giving the option to log in, also gave the option to enter CC info without logging in.
I can’t figure out the difference between the two – how would they have been set up differently to create this? We do not have PayPal Pro, so both are with the standard PayPal. It may be a PayPal issue and not something generated by JotForm…
I think I found the issue… it was on the PayPal end. Thanks for your help.
In behalf of my Colleague Cesar, you are most welcome.
