    I am not able to stop needed emails from ending up in the spam folder. I can click "not spam" but that appears to be "this one time only".

    You can create a filter to allow emails from noreply@jotform.com and not marked it as spam. I believe this has been discussed in the guide.

    This should filter ALL emails coming from noreply@jotform.com to your INBOX and never to your SPAM folder. It may help to add noreply@formresponse.com in your filter too.
