    Hi there

I have created a form that encrypts personal data that is submitted to it. I do have a jotform.key file to see the submissions online. However when I go to download the Excel file, the data in the file is encrypted. Please can you help me with this?

    Many thanks

    Hi Sian,

Thank you for contacting our Support.

Unfortunately, encrypted forms will not allow you to export any data form. You can only view the submissions by entering your private key. All PDF Downloads, Reports, and Emails that contain form data in them will be disabled. You may want to take a look at this JoForm blog to learn more about encrypted forms: https://www.jotform.com/blog/encrypted-forms/

I also suggest using this helpful user guide to assist you further with encrypted forms: What-Are-Encrypted-Forms-and-How-to-Use-Them-as-Expert

If you disable the form encryption, only future submissions will be unencrypted, all other submissions will remain encrypted and will need the private key for viewing.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns, we are always here to help.
