HIPAA: integrate Microsoft Power Automate

  • IES_Communications
Asked on October 23, 2020 at 6:16 PM

I just upgraded my account to a HIPAA compliant account and now I no longer see the Microsoft Power Automate Integration option?

Where did this go or am I doing something wrong?

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the Microsoft Power Automate integration is not HIPAA compliant. You may check the HIPAA compliant integrations here: https://www.jotform.com/hipaa/is-hipaa-compliant/.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Currently Microsoft Power Automate Integration is not HIPAA compliant.

I have forwarded a feature request to our developers.

Please note that we cannot give an ETA when this feature would be added or will it be passed however, once updates are available, you will be notified at this support ticket.

Do you have a recommendation for something that will help me route the data to my OneDrive or Sharepoint site automatically? I see that those two are HIPAA compliant integrations, but I just need to find a solution that would be triggered by the submission of this form and automatically send the data to our servers on a spreadsheet.

Can you possibly share more information about this? We are speaking with Microsoft on our business agreement and they are saying we have a HIPAA compliant account.

As we await a follow-up from Microsoft Support, I did some digging and see that Power Automate, is considered a protected in-scope service and notated in this documentation from Microsoft regarding HIPAA compliance: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/offering-hipaa-hitech?view=o365-worldwide . Given that this is listed and federally recognized, can this be allowed for us to access in our account?

    Hi there,

    Happy to help!

I see that my colleague has, indeed, opened a feature request in regards to having Power Automate become HIPAA Compliant in our system. It is not currently possible to only implement the requested feature for one account, and we cannot guarantee implementation, but we will certainly communicate with you on this thread when/if we have an update for you.

In the interim, I suggest using our Zapier integration to send your submission data to your OneDrive or Sharepoint site.

Here's how to set up a trigger from JotForm to "Zap" to OneDrive: https://zapier.com/apps/jotform/integrations/onedrive

And here is how to set up a trigger to "Zap" data from JotForm to Office 365 apps: https://zapier.com/apps/jotform/integrations/office-365

Alternatively, you could also use CloudPipies to directly send data from JotForm to Sharepoint in particular. Here's how: https://www.cloudpipes.com/integrations/jotform/microsoft-sharepoint

Please note that Zapier does offer a free account so that you can test out these triggers to ensure that you are having the proper data "Zapped" to your selected end point.

I hope that this helps! Please let us know if we can help further.

Zanier is not A HIPAA compliant solution for my data. I sent a reply earlier with a link to Microsoft confirming that Microsoft Power Automate is in fact HIPAA compliant. I don’t understand why your team is saying it’s not?

    Apologies for the confusion created.

The application Microsoft Power Automate is currently not on our list of HIPAA compliant integrations. That's why we categorized it as not HIPAA Compliant. My colleague already escalated a feature request to include it on our list of integrations for the HIPAA-enabled account; however, we can't provide an estimated time when it can be implemented because feature request tickets are being handled according to the number of users with similar requests.

We will keep you posted on this support ticket and as soon as we receive any update from our backend team. We highly appreciate your understanding on this matter.
