How to save submissions of two form in one submission list or google spreadsheet?

Asked by Mrkay on September 09, 2013 at 04:35 AM

    Hi there,

We offer samples via our website. Although it clearly states that customers only need fill the form out once, customers continue to fill the form in multiple times.

I know you can restrict the number of submission via the I.P or cookie.

However, staff use the same form to submit sample requests if they come in via phone. This is so they are all printed at the same time.

Is it possible to have a duplication (as such) of the form without these restrictions, which would allow staff to submit as many as they like and the form which is on the website can have the restrictions turned on. As such this would restrict them from ordering more than one.

If this can not be done, could you please offer any suggestions.

    Hello Mrkay,

It is not possible to send the submissions of two different form's to one submission list or the google spreadsheet. Both forms has different form id and they will always save submissions to its own submission list or google spreadsheet.

Also, it is not possible to have the same form behave differently when used internally and on your website. The only solution to your requirement is to have two different form, one for your internal use and another one for your website. You can clone your form to duplicate it. This guide should help you clone your own form:  http://www.jotform.com/help/27-Form-Cloning

Now you should add restrictions/form limits to your form which you want to embed in your website and leave the second cloned form unchanged to be used internally. Here are few guide which should help you on setting up form limits:

You can integrate both forms with google spreadsheet. To see both the submissions together, you should download the submission data from both the spreadsheet and merge them in one spreadsheet.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you!

I thought this may have been the case, not to worry.

Its is a pain to have to do all of that.

It could be a suggestion for the future.

We already have an app to combine submissions from multiple forms:

If you have any feedback about this app please let us know about it on api@jotform.com. Make sure to include that this is a feedback about the combine submissions app.
