    SAVING a partially-completed form

Asked by surfcity on September 10, 2013 at 04:36 PM

Sometimes I have clients who work on a form only to find out at the end when they go to submit it that it will not submit. It is usually because they have not completed all fields marked as *Required. However, when that happens, they occasionally close the window, which exits them from the form, and then they send me an email to ask about the problem they're having. After I tell them what may be the problem, they go back to finish it, but it seems that the form must be started over again at that point.

Is this correct? Is there any way to save information so that they do not need to complete a form in its entirety again?

Sometimes, people are completing forms during a break at work or even at home. Then the break is over or someone needs help with their homework, etc. There are many reasons why it would be helpful for the form to be able to be saved for completion at a later time.

Please advise if this is possible with any and all forms I create thru oJotForm.

    Thank you,

    Michelle

Hello Michelle, I would recommend that you enable the Save and Continue feature. This way it will save a localized copy of the filled-in form data to their computer in a cache every so often as you specify. So that if for some reason this happens again or if the page is even accidently closed then they can easily return to it again and continue where they left off at.

Awesome, thanks! I just redid the 4 most important forms to behave in this manner. I bet my clients who've filled these out in the past wish I'd known about this when it was their turn!
There's just so much to know about all this tech stuff, and I wish I knew it all; but time is the enemy, so I have to learn as I go.
    Thanks again,
