Strange filename after uploading file to FTPAsked by ptw on September 13, 2013 at 03:06 PM
My question is regarding the feature "Send Uploads to FTP". I love the feature, and i got it working fine, but a few things happen that i would like to change.
1. The filename gets addiional characters in it. Where if the file that was uploaded was called "dough.jpg" it lands on my server as "242994969327789689-dough.jpg" Is there any way to get those characters out of there?
2. It comes along with a PDF with the same number as its file name. I have no use of that PDF on my server, can I stop them from being uploaded as well?
Hi, what you are actually seeing is the characters that are automatically generated and associated with the Submission ID which identifies each and every submission received. All of which are all different so this will vary.
If you want to change the name of the File that is uploaded you will have to go into your Submission Control Panel > Click On FTP Upload > Select One of the Options from the Dropdown (under path)
You can currently set it to Submission ID, No Folder, and the Form's Textbox Title you have which is lableled " Re-Enter Event Title ". The PDF that is included contains the Submission Data Information of the submission itself when it is filled out. Unfortunately we do not yet have a more advanced method of eliminating that to make it optional or to set the Image Name instead of a Folder for FTP Uploads yet. However, if you would like I can certainly add this to our Features Request List to be looked into and considered as an improvement.
