    Image Display at Thank You Page is cut off at the bottom

    Asked by jeffest on September 16, 2013 at 02:48 PM

    I'm setting up a pay service where people can upload a photo and I make some custom changes to it. What I'd like is to show the image on the Thank You page, which is possible with the {IMG:selectFile} tag, but because most of the images are going to be large it only displays a small portion. Is there any CSS that can control the image size when it's displayed? Thanks.

    Hello jeffest,

    If you want to specify the dimensions of the uploaded file, you can mention the dimensions as arguments.

    Eg: {IMG:uploadImage:50:100} will display the uploaded image with  width as 50px and height as 100px.

    If setting the height and width distort your image, you can just mention one dimension and the other one will be calculated automatically. Eg: {IMG:uploadImage:50} or {IMG:uploadImage::100}

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you!

    Thanks, at first that didn't work because I'm using the tag {IMG:selectFile} but after playing with it a bit and taking out the tag as seen below I was able to set the width of the image to 400 using an extra colon at the end {IMG:selectFile:400:}. So, got it! Thanks for your help. =)
    {IMG:selectFile::400}

    Hi, just a followup. I was able to show the image and get the width correct, but the image is getting cut off at the bottom. Any ideas on why that would be happening? This is in Wordpress if that's any help. I've included a screenshot. Would it be possible not to display that in your message board? Thanks.

    Hi Jeff, I'm sorry but I don't see a Screenshot of the Image if you posted one. Can you please try sharing this again with using our Image Tool or you can even use a Third Party such as Imgur and share the link. This way we can get a better understanding of what you are actually talking about now.

    I'll just attach it this time instead of cut and paste. If this doesn't work I'll use the other methods.

    Please kindly upload the image somewhere and provide us with the URL. If you do not want to use third party services, you can upload the image(s) to us:

    Okay, here's the link to the upload page. I'm sure you've got some jpgs lying around you could test it with. From there it goes to the Thank you page.

    Hi, I'm very impressed at the fast customer service from this company. I hope I start getting enough business where I can start paying because I feel a little guilty. ;-)
    I responded to someone else a little while ago with the url but here it is again. This is the link to the file upload page and after you upload a file it will go to the thank you page and display the image. I have a feeling that the problem is somewhere in Wordpress but I used Firebug and wasn't able to nail it down. Thanks for your help.

    @jeffest

    Thanks for the nice feedback, that's greatly appreciated! :)

    By the way, I don't see any links in your last reply, perhaps you've missed it? But before that, could you please try it again on your embedded form? I've made a little changes on the height of your thank you page, I hope this fixed the problem. If not, please send to us the website URL again where the form is embedded so we can diagnose the problem in our browser.

    Thank you!

    Hi Jeff,

    Try to wrap your form embed code with a div tag and set a height on its style attribute. You can use the following.

    <div style="height: 600px !important;">

    <script type="text/javascript" src="//form.jotform.us/jsform/32567727811157"></script>

    </div>

    Please inform us if this doesn't help. Thanks!

    I'm sorry, I was unecessarily confusing things. Very fatigued I guess. The 'thank you' link I sent was one I did in Wordpress but I eventually gave up on it and instead used the one from within Jotform. So, let me start over and try to explain this better. The entire process starts with this page:
    http://www.musclecartees.com/design-your-own/
    and after payment is made through Paypal it redirects to this page which has the embedded Jotform script:
    http://www.musclecartees.com/file-upload/
    and after the file is uploaded it uses your 'Thank You' page in Jotform with this code:

    Thank You!

    Your file has been uploaded. If you don't receive any follow up emails after a few days, be sure to check your spam or trash folders just in case it ended up there instead. If it did, be sure to set up a filter to allow emails from "musclecartees.com" into your inbox.
    Click Here To Return To Main Page.

    {IMG:selectFile:400:}

    I added the height style as you can see but it didn't make a difference. Sorry again for the confusion.

    Hi,

    I think re-embedding your form using our iFrame Method will fix this issue. Replace your current embed codes to this one:

    <iframe id="JotFormIFrame" allowtransparency="true" src="//www.jotform.us/form/32567727811157" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:500px; border:none;" scrolling="no"></iframe>

    Please let us know for the results.

    Thanks

    No, didn't work. It totally distorted the image and still cut it off at the bottom. If you can receive the attached you'll see that it turned a '68 Chevelle into a Mini Cooper, lol. Actually not bad looking - I'd buy one. I tried it with the original image from the first screenshot I sent and it did show almost the entire image, albeit distorted, so you're getting close. This isn't a real big deal, more of something cool I'd like to present to the customer, but I sense determination on both our parts to figure this one out. =)

    @jeffest

    Not yet, Jotform Support will never do that. :)

    Our apologies for the delay by the way.

    Anyway, I've made a little changes again in your thank you page in order to bypass the existing style in your page which was taken by the form that's why it gets cut off.

    I went a head and made a test and everything seems to be fine by now.

    Kindly confirm it on your end.

    Regards!

    No, the image is still distorted. I appreciate the effort but there's really no point in putting any more time into it. Thanks for trying though. When I have free time I'll give it another shot. Thanks again.

    I thank you for trying. You guys are seriously the best customer service team I've ever encountered. =) Showing the image wasn't a big deal but I had to host the Thank You page back in Wordpress because the link back to the main page using Jotform's Thank You link was showing the home page within the home page, kind of like an iframe. It's all good now though.
    Since you mention it I do have another issue that's way more important. I don't know if you tested the Design Your Own page I set up on my site, but it goes to Zazzle.com using an API and customers upload their image there where it then appears on a bunch of products, but their interface is confusing. What I'd like is for the customer to upload their image from my website, along with some text, and have those turned into variables that I can pass through the API url so it all shows up automatically. I already figured how to use Jotform to save files to my server using FTP and they all get unique file names which is great, but that's where I got stuck. I'll provide more details when I'm ready though, but if what I said made any sense and you think it's something doable, you can just let me know for now. Thanks again.
    Jeff =)
