    Lightbox Conflict

    Asked by craiggallup on May 24, 2011 at 12:35 AM

    On my home page I have a slider and I have a link at the top that says free quote with the light box link in it and I think it is conflicting with the slider. Is there any way I can fix this. I have placed one on the contact page so I know it works I just can not get to work on the home page.

    Thank You

    Hi Craig,

    I visited your site using Firefox and the link to the feedback form in the home page works fine.
    However in IE it appears that the flash image overlaps the feedback form. A workaround for
    this is to set the wmode to opaque.

    <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />

    You can also set this property in the embed code, a sample below would look like this:

    <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="665" height="455" src="/myflashfile.swf" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" name="obj1" quality="High" menu="false" wmode="opaque"></embed>

    Hope this helps.

    Well this was originally a javascript slider and the form conflicted with it no matter what so I just recently switched to a flash slider instead so the form would work. I will fix the overlap. Let me know if you come up with any fixes for the form to work with other javascript on the same page as the form. For right now this works for me because I have a mobile site anyway that does not use flash.
